Worst video game you ever played?

For me, the easy winner has got to be Pokemon: Battle Revolution. Oh, it was so painful to play. And I usually like Pokemon games but this one was an absolute mess.

Pac-Man for the Atari 2600 is a steaming pile of dogcrap.

I know this is very controversial, but Barnabas Collins was a very terrible take on Dark Shadows. Really not good. However, it did come with glow-in-the-dark bones and a pair of glow-in-the-dark teeth that weren't even part of the game.
Oh...you meant video games?

This page is basically a catalog of crappy older games, my least favorite of which is probably
M.C. Kids, the McDonald's game. Oh, and rather famously, several publications have agreed on
Bebe's Kids as the worst-ever at one point or other.

I tend to like most of the games I play, since I check online reviews before buying ... usually. There was a stage in my life where I bought a lot of game gear games, and that didn't turn out too well for me. A few winners ... a lot of losers. The Ren and Stimpy game was pretty awful from what I remember. Maybe I should try it out again.

And what was wrong with McKids? I thought it was pretty creative, and ESPECIALLY since it was a flippin fast food restaurant who put it together.

Kyle Petty's No Fear Racing, it was for either SNES or PS1 can't remember atm.
Also should mention even though I never played it, Cosmic Race. It's a racing game for the PS1 that got GamePlayers magizine's only 0.0 rating ever. (damn I miss that mag)

Well, if you're gonna grade on a curve, and say "It's a fast food restaurant, video games aren't their thing," then sure, McKids was a great game. But then you realize that they were (and still are) one of the richest multinational corportations in the world and could afford to commission the game from their pick of developers for top dollar, and suddenly it makes a little bit less sense to treat them with that degree of clemency.
I didn't like McKids because it had poor controls, overly complicated scoring systems, and was hard in ways that made it seem less challenging than just plain unfair. Just watch the Angry Video Game Nerd's take on it. I mean, he doesn't skewer it as badly as he does many of the games he "reviews," but he explains all of my frustrations with it pretty well.
Oh, and while I'm thinking about really awful wastes of resources and money:
Tetris 2. Yeah.

I have a copy of this game! Funny to look at, but pretty unplayable.

Captain Planet and the Planeteers on the Mega Drive was particularly appalling. Terrible controls, terrible level design, and strange disorienting gameplay. Craptacular.

Oh man, that just reminded me of the NES version of Transformers. I don't think I ever got past the first enemy, the controls were so terrible.

What? You didn't like playing a board, getting to the end, finding out that you went the wrong way to get to the boss, backtracking all the way to the start of the board, going the right way, beating the boss, then having to backtrack again to get out of the board before the bomb blows up.
Doesn't that sound like a great game?

Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness...the only game where I felt compelled to save before jumping from each tiny, collapsing, poorly-lit platform to the next...except for those times when I'd forget that the game didn't automatically save my progress.
