Yelp, I figure I'll start this one because I want to tell everyone that my party was a HIT!

I was getting so worried that everything wouldn't be perfect. Then the only thing I didn't think about hit me like a ton of bricks....PARKING! We had 50 people RSVP'd, but I managed to work it out. I borrowed my neighbors golf cart and my older son and his friend shuttled everyone that had to park more than a few houses down. Some had to park at the school at the end of the street, but they had a fun ride in the glorified golf cart sporting balloons, streamers and tin cans dragging behind. It was quite a thing to see, lol.

I rented an old fashion pop corn machine like the ones you see at the fair, with the bicycle wheels on the back. The Margarita machine was a HUGE hit. Traditional margarita's on one side and strawberry daiquiri on the other. It was a nice warm day, so the frozen concoctions were perfect. Lots of different beer, wine, sodas for the kids, etc.

The food was in plenty. I was so worried about running out of food, but we didn't. Everyone ate non stop. I BBQ'd PILES of teriyaki and sauced chicken, 8 tri tips, a ton of sides, like, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, cole slaw, potato salad, baked beans a few different salads, etc.
ALSO, my new daughter inlaw is Hispanic, so her side of the Family brought tons of very traditional Mexican food. Homemade tamales, taquitos, some kind of a shrimp salsa fresca thing that you eat on these soft puffy corn tortilla type things (can't think of the name) mole, and a few other incredible dishes that I can't pronounce.

My nibbles were great, I started days in advance. bacon wrapped chestnut in bbq sauce, bacon wrapped shrimp in a sesame ginger sauce, little cocktail weenies swimming in sauce, shrimp cocktail, hot wings, my "now" famous, spicy orange peel chicken wings, stuffed mushrooms and lots of chips and dips, etc.

Desserts were great, too. I made one each of my peach, strawberry and pineapple cheese cakes, a few pies, chocolate cake and a huge bowl of my favorite ambrosia fruit salad.

It was a great time. The pool was heating and got a lot of use. Started at 2:00pm and started winding down around 10:00. Now the clean up begins. :?

Question Of The Day: Are you guys mad at me for not inviting you?

Actually, it was a Family type thing and I know that no one is close enough.

By the way, I have two words for any big party that you plan. Chaffing dishes. I had 8 of them and it worked out great! For those that don't know what chaffing dishes are, they are the stands with water in the bottom pan and the pan with the food sits in that. Then two Sterno's lit under to keep it warm. They are awesome!

Bah, who needs an invitation? And 10 o'clock would've just been the start! :) Glad it went well.

I use these great public domain ephemeral films from archive.org for demos, and this classic popcorn guy cracks me up!

That's a crack up. It looks like only part of the scene. They cut it short just before a girl named Bambi came over wearing a red white and green bakini, wanting to buy popcorn, but has no money. So the nice popcorn guy happily lets her pay with sex. Next thing you know, there's popcorn everywhere.
