Memorial Day, 2008

DRC: I'm on vacation and spent a night in Phoenix where I watched the Arizona Rattlers beat the Grand Rapids Rampage. Having a good time and the weather could not have been any better. Ask King A, Arizona has been beautiful for the last two days.
We drove down south a couple of hours and now I'm Tombstone. How cool is that?
QOTD: WHERE ARE YOU? and if you are nowhere significant, where have you been recently that IS?
I ask this lame question because not that many people will visit this thread to ask a REALLY good question.

QotD: I go to work and I go home afterwords. That's what I've been for the last year.
DRC: I'm beginning to get really pissed off at everybody in the world. Yes, everybody. Even you.

I am here. I rarely share my day, because you would be fucking bored to tears. But since this thread is dead, I'll take this opportunity to prove it.
Got up. Showered. Used the toilet. Dressed. Walked the dogs. Worked. Made coffee. Checked the boards. Worked more. Made Toast. Ate toast, drank coffee. Worked more. Used the toilet. Went to IKEA, bought chairs for the deck. Wife drove me to the condo, where I caulked the tub. Wife picked me up, took me home. Worked more. Opened beer. Put chairs on deck. Worked more. Drank beer. Checked boards. Typed this.
Yawn.

Not to outdo spudilly:
Woke up (at 12:45 pm)
Ate some cereal (Frosted Flakes)
Drank a cup of coffee (microwaved remnants of yesterday... didn't feel like making a new pot... yuck)
Listened to my new song which I recorded yesterday. Re-recorded a bunch of stuff.
Drank a beer.
Turned on the TV, saw that "Signs" was on, drank 6 or 8 more beers while watching.
Checked the SF boards, here I am.

Like Hoblit, I am in Phoenix, Arizona. Much of the day was spent on yardwork, the rest on reading, eating, and watching "An Inconvenient Truth" (and musing on how much plant life we removed from the ecosystem this morning).
Still sort of hoping to write and record something for this week's title, but I don't even have a lyric yet. I do have an idea, inspired by a novel I've been reading. The Mrs. has 9 more days at her teaching job before taking a break for (probably) a few months.

qotd:
I am in Brisbane. Removalists are emptying my house.
Tomorrow I will be on the Gold Coast.
Then Sydney.
Then a few days after that Auckland.
Then New Plymouth, Taranaki.
Then life may not be quite the same again.

Today I got up, played Wii Fit for half an hour (I don't know if it's doing anything beneficial but I sure do get sore afterwards!), watched some TV, went grocery shopping, made a pan-seared salmon steak with roasted corn and habanero salsa for dinner, played some Team Fortress 2 (I am getting good at sniper), got caught up on Doctor Who, then visited DRC to see if there was anything worth reading. Conclusion: no.
qotd: I am in San Francisco. It is a significant city.

I went to work for 4 hours yesterday. Played some Video Games. Watched the Penguins lose again last night... hope they can win both Home games. Also someone died in my Condo complex last night in a fire, which is deemed suspicious... I think I know who set it, if it was indeed arson, last year the kid lit the side of my Condo on fire. I hope they lock this kid up, if it is him...

QotD: VT was amazing this memorial day weekend. Finally got the kids sleeping outside in the tent. It was 39 degrees. The stars were wonderful. Smores ruled. Folks look great. Siblings healthy. Drank lots of wine. Success.

I'm a bit hung over today. My son's birthday bbq bash was yesterday and it was great. A lot of good food and drink. I tried a new recipe call
Bull Horns. I used chicken legs instead of wing drumettes. In a nutshell, you remove the skin, cut the meat from the bone and pull it down to a ball, wrap it in bacon, grill and sauce with a barley, hops bbq sauce. I give them an A+. Everyone loved them, but the prep is a bish.
