i downloaded the demo... and i can't open anything up in it...
it's and it'll only open up tracktion tracks... format 'trktion' or somethin' along those lines...
and i have no clue how to do that... and i can't just open up somethin' empty to record on or nothin'...
so i really have no clue how i can use it?
is there a way i can convert a file or somethin' so i can open it in tracktion?

when you're on the 'projects' page/tab/thing, select 'new project.."
the trktion files it opens and saves are full multitrack projects.
there's no reason to use the demo.. you can legally get the whole thing for free now.

Incidentally, I got a link in my e-mail for the whole thing and the thing went poo poo ca ca on me and demanded 80 dollars from me for the whole version. Is it cuz I'm Canadian Craig? Curious cuz I am kinda interested in that mackie software or atleast want to give it a go, although I'm kind of a Cubase slut. Pop a link if you know what's up. Followed the procedures pretty good and still got hooped. Anyway, not sure why, but I'm thinkin' it's cuz I'm a Canuck....... *sniff*

when you go through the process, it's supposed to give you registration codes. i think. i haven't actually gone through the free process, since i paid for it (!), but i know people who have.

If you don't already have a free subscription to Tape Op, you should.

I have to say tried this on two different computers, downloaded different tracktion keys, followed their instructions - wouldn't work. Nice front-end interface, though.

I suspect user error. It worked fine for me, no problems.
