The Song Fight Bulletin Board

Finally watched it. I heard it was ok, but I really liked it. It's a Sci Fi wormhole flick, but it's more interesting than the usual because...........
.....well, if I say anymore, I'll spoil it. But let's just say he does the things we'd all want to do if we had "the gift".
Also, they left it wide open for a sequel.

Yeah, we just saw this, and I know there are some things he didn't (mis)use his gift for that would have been at the top of my list. I guess they were trying to keep the PG rating or something...

Not wildly impressed with the script or the acting, but I stayed awake for the whole movie, which is worth at least three stars from me...

Also, he could have used his gift for a little more good to keep his karma in balance. But I'm guessing that will happen in the sequel.

Possible spoiler below:
I thought that when he saw the floods on the news, he was going to go do some hero'ing. I'm thinking that when his jumper friend came back to the cave all wet, he may have gone to help out in a disaster somewhere, but didn't actually say. They just joked about which ocean and smiled. I may have missed something or they cut it out to not give away the sequel.
Rolland keeps saying that only God should have this power and the paladins keep trying to kill them. So I'm guess that they are concerned that jumpers are playing God and upsetting the balance of things.

I only saw the last half hour or so of this, but I thought it was wholly insipid. The main character was a jackass and the movie didn't make me care in the slightest about what happened to him. Plus, everyone's voices sounded abnormally high, for some reason (did they speed up the final cut?), which was irritating.

I didn't notice the voice thing. But I did think it was a big set up for sequels.
