In the valley, I was enamored by a girl all in tatters. She was young and impatient. I was hopeless, but adjacent. I bought her flowers and a stuffed bear just the day before she left here. When she came back, they had wilted. (Well, at least she hadn't killed 'em.) But before too long they had gone. I was wrong.

In the suburbs, when I was younger, we had a color TV at my grandmother's. It was a luxury, I can assure you. It kept us quiet past our curfews. But out of habit (or maybe frustration), she'd turn up the contrast and saturation so she would get the most out of the picture: the skies were bluer, the grass was greener. But the picture tube had gone before long.

So I was hoping that you'd listen, even though it's just my opinion. But I'll take care of all the daisies even when they don't need saving. And the colors? Well I trust that our eyes will adjust.
