I forgot we had a songfight band called Hannibal Lecter and the Time Lords. The answer does fit perfectly, though I was thinking of a more noteworthy fighter.

Hannibal Lecter is a fictional serial killer, whereas the guy you had in mind was a real person; perhaps that is a distinction you could make in the clue. Nationality would also be a giveaway!
