I have a client whose album I recorded through an older mbox 2 using the 2 channels plus two additional channels through s/pdif and my rosetta 200. I recorded with Sonar 4.

the issues are in the playback and exporting...at the time I was just getting used to my rosetta and as long as I was getting a signal, I started recording, not paying much heed to the settings of 48 or 44.1. Now when I open up the projects, everything is playing slightly fast and sharp. I was able to get one project to sound alright, but then when I exported it the mixdown had the same problem...fast and sharp pitched.

I know it has something to do with sampling rates matching up...there MUST be a way out of this but I can't seem to figure it out. Trial and erroring has gotten me nowhere. Anyone who can offer me some helpful suggestion?

It definitely sounds like you recorded in 44.1 and are now listening/exporting in 48. It is like speeding a tape up. You need to figure out what part of your system is not playing at 44.1 It could be your software, it could be your audio box. What are you using now?

Yeah, that's what it was. I recorded with the session in 48 but the converter in 44.1. What I've done is mixed down in Sonar to separate mono tracks. Then, if I import the mixdowns in a 44.1 session in Pro Tools, the program warns me that unless I covert, the tracks will play at the wrong speed. I decline to covert, they play fine and then I can re-mixthem down correctly. I can't get Sonar to ask me this failsafe question...thank goodness I have both programs. Believe me, I'll always make sure that the converter and software are synched next time.

Oops, I guess I got it backwards. At what rate did you record your tracks? Is your audiobox not capable of playing at 48? I can't imagine your software can't handle it. Look somewhere in your audio preferences and see if you can change them.
