Going to a barbecue/birthday party (my sister's) today. Hooray. I made peaches in caramel cream sauce (a Jacques Pépin recipe which I have made a few times before). It's pretty easy and usually a huge hit.
qotd: Do you have a specialty dessert?

i make a pretty mean tiramisu and the recipes all in my head. but i buy the ladyfingers (at trader joes).
went surfing saturday, beautiful day. yesterday was pretty lazy, made a strawberry cream pie. pretty lazy today so far. hope everyone's safe with gustav.
staycations are meant to be lazy. watching baseball and a nap are about the only thing on my forseeable horizon. and maybe a haircut later.

I spent Labor Day with the family, walking in the woods and riding bikes at the school. Then I went to the studio to get in in shape for the open house on Thursday.
QotD: Not really, but that recipe for fudge that BLT gave me was a huge hit.

I'm surprised you didn't bring up your horrific-sounding dessert lasagna again.

Yeah, I guess that would fit better as my "specialty" dessert as opposed to my most requested. The Chocolate Lasagna is requested every time my Mother in law comes to visit, which is once, maybe twice a year. Although I did make my Chocolate Kahlua version where I soak the noodles in Kahlua overnight, for my son's birthday last May. Not his birthday cake, just as a side dessert. He requested it.
