given the titles, next week's fight will be the most emo ever.

.... how about unifighted?

So being that this is a slow month for me, got an extension on a project I'm working on with THC and the titles are pretty cool, I may have to do something for this upcoming fight. Got some new toys I want to try out.

;p

I'm recovering from the disaster of this week's song, and trying something new for my voice that I'm not terribly confidant about, but why the heck not? I think Deshead's gonna donate some guitar or something to the project.

ditto.

Thus, two weeks in a row for me. I'm usually lucky if I can get to two months in a row.

I've barely finished "The Wrong Girl."

It's a mess. I've just moved, but my equipment hasn't yet.
So - no instruments. I went back and made the whole freaking
track from samples from the first SongFight - "Golfpunk Drives a Cadillac."
It would have been really sparse without the bewildering Nick Bellando track.

Then I borrowed a laptop and an omnidirectional plastic tieclip mic to record the vocals in a closet in 1.5 takes.

If anybody wants the samples I can probably post them.

So enjoy...

I'm in for I Wish I Was So Sure. Sugar-coated to the max. Hopefully it doesn't suck. Didn't have time I think to do a proper mix, so I might post a new version later in the week. Think I went a little top heavy. Anyway TT's in. Rip at will.

Sadly, this never came together. But after reading the lyrics, I'm stoked to hear some scat.

Also: I got in under the wire with I Wish I Was So Sure.

I worked out a cool guitar riff this week, and a good (seperate) piano riff too. I didn't organize my time wisely enough to turn either one of them into a songfight entry, but if I had done it? It would have been rushed, and therefore: not as good.

It's a first, really. I don't think I've ever started a potential songfight entry without finishing it, up until now. I actually think that it's a good thing, the extra time might make the songs better.

ROCK!

Interesting that you say that Ken cuz I got stuck in the same quandry and submitted out of the shear willing of the two seperate sections merging. Kinda helped to get all backwards about it  , but can only use that trick once or twice. Anyway happy about it in the end although I think my mix could have used a few more days. Ahhhhhh Songfight! By the way your tune for Hope You're Okay was awesome this week dude. Dug it.

Oh bugger off. I'm actually happy about this one now.
Kind of Flaming Lips-ey... but a little twisted and tipsy

Yeah, yeah.

I submitted something for I Wish I was So Sure. I wrote the words and music and Yakuza Jack played the keyboard part. We had so many technical difficulties that I almost didn't finish it, but then I did. By 5:30 in the morning. The morning I flew accross the country two hours later.

I think it's a pretty good song; pretty simple, but more direct than most of my stuff. Yakuza and I will re-record it sometime soon, and make it sound SOOOOO GOOOOD!

Yeah that's cool; I like doing that. I look forward to hearing it.

It will be something to hear you singing in a Wayne whatsisface voice, though.
