While I haven't been following the story I did read about it. And now I've read the middle story in your list of links, which is a follow up to the story I originally read.

What I want to know is why is there 'talks' and a ploy for a 'peaceful resolution'? WTF? Are we encouraging this type of behavior?

If the world doesn't act aggressively and quickly it will only embolden these thugs and thieves. We (whomever, not necessarily U.S.) need to put a beat down on these guys hard and the likes of which they've never seen so that they have stories to tell for generations to come.
