One more day 'till Friday. The Funeral Dazies are heading over to Orlando for the Spooky Empire convention. (
http://www.spookyempire.com ) We are playing at 9:00pm if anyone is interested. Before us there will be a burlesque type show and directly after us there is a band called The Zombie Dragstrip Hookers. They are a really good Tampa band thats a cross between Rob Zombie & Godsmack. (They don't dress up or nothin'...they're pretty much a hard rock / heavy metal bar band, but they're good)
The Funeral Dazies' CD's will be finished next week and I'll post a topic to try to guilt some of ya'll into purchasing it.
Also, we will be in Atlanta the following Friday the 24th. We'll be playing the Masquerade at MIDNIGHT! (all part of a Horror Festival in the city including horror film viewings at other locations)
Anyways, continuing the doom and gloom questions previously asked this week and an actual continuance of my AotD yesterday: (Out of job questions, bad band break ups)
QotD: In the vein of joblessness and band break-ups, what was the worse time period for you on an emotional level. (Note, you don't have to go into detail obviously, this question is more about the fact that you are here now.)

Curious. Is it correct to use "worse" in the above sentence, or would it be worst? Although my spelling leaves much to be desired, my speaking and pronunciation is proper. When I'm talking to someone and they say a word incorrectly, I consider them uneducated, unless it's intentional in a humorous way. With that said, I can see myself adding a T to worse in that sentence when I'm speaking which means it's one of those words I've been saying wrong my whole life and sounding like a dumb ass.
QOTD: When my best friend died.

The end of 1990 and into '91 was the worst time for me. I'm sure I was clinically depressed, but undiagnosed. So probably for a year starting in mid '90. And, fitting in nicely with the question, was the quitting of both job and band.
BLT - You need to use 'worsest'.

Worse is comparative, worst is superlative.
Hoblit's grammatical constructions are often worse than yours, but they are not the worst I have seen*.
*Example of proper usage only - not meant to impugn Hoblit in any way.

Crap, now I have to go look up superlative AND impugn.

j/k
edit: I saw the "S" too, but I have a feeling he was being sarcastic. (the whole extra letter thing I mentioned)

drc: Having one of those days where I seem to be getting stuff done even though I'm not actually conscious of doing anything useful. I think I'm just slacking off but every now and then I look and notice that I've been writing code. Huh. Maybe I should cut back on the caffeine.
qotd: Goes hand-in-hand with my last-jobless-period answer.

That was probably when my sister's husband died in a train accident. We were very close. 7 Jan 2000.

QotD: I'd say 1985 until 1998 aka the years I was in school. Being the least popular kid in every school I was ever in made it not so good. Fortunetly the real world isn't anything like school. And all those 'cool' people are now welfare junkies and most likely miserable. Mwhahaha.....

I guess my darkest hour was in middle school, so like 1997-99-ish. I was unpopular and going through puberty, which is a rough combination in general. My self-esteem sucked, and in retrospect it became pretty obvious to me that I was deeply depressed.
All of a sudden, it stopped. What happened, you ask? I started listening to music and writing songs of my own. The rest just kind of fell into place. Music saved my life, dudes.

Here.
One week in July 2008. Never contemplated "not being here" - but have never experienced anxiety in that way before.

qotd: Life has always seemed pretty dark to me, but it's been easier to deal with since I started writing music.

I really want to see Ken's non-Song Fight band (Parker Street Cinema) play at an Obama rally tonight but I really don't want to bother with the bus, and extremely don't want to deal with the various risks of riding/parking my bike there, and of course there's always the ongoing issues of Thursday night shows being the night before days I have work on. I'd have been more interested if I could have gotten other folks to come with me but everyone else who was going to come along backed out.
Someday I'll manage to go see a PSC show but I don't think it'll be happening tonight.

Well they start in like 10 minutes and it'll take me at least 45 to get there.
I'm holding out hope that someday they'll have a show on a Friday or Saturday night.

We're planning to see them next week in Berkeley. The venue, The Starry Plough, is a great place, and it's a short walk away from the Ashby BART.
