The Weekend 10/18 & 10/19

DRC: Konnichiwa Songfighters!

It's been a busy Saturday. I've been working on a website, doing a lot of cleaning, playing cards with the wife, video games with the boys, being stunned by Lego (see my blog) and dreaming of having a band. The rest of the night looks like it will include the humor of Hulk Hogan's Celebrity Championship Wrestling (on CMT) and some homemade Chinese Food. Good stuff all around. :)

QotD: Any new musical projects coming up?

Are you planning a new album? An AAD? Making a music video? Got some shows lined up? Readying yourself for a streak of songfights?

qotd: I've wanted to do an AAD for a while, but I haven't had time.

As for other projects, I'm working on a couple albums right now, but they're coming along more slowly than I'd like. Got a lot of demos though.

QotD: Well I'm getting ready to re-install FruityLoops. I haven't had it since I got my new computer like... 3 or 4 months ago. So yeah... I'll be making new music soon. ^_^

I'm trying to get a writing and recording rhythm going. I'm working evenings now, 3PM to 11:30PM, and have weekends off, but haven't gotten the engine running smoothly yet. No band, just moi. But looking forward to the next couple of fights, GOM, etc.

Well, the Mrs. is off at a church event this weekend, so I had big plans to write and record a bunch of "contemporary worship" songs... unfortunately, the children next door were out playing in front of their house Friday evening, which drives one of our dogs absolutely nuts... and when that one barks, the other two join in. So I had a house full of barking dogs most of last evening, and then some extra to-do items for my mom came up today. I did get four songs put together, guy & guitar demos recorded, but I'm kinda suspecting that none of them really came out particularly well. Just too out of practice, I think.

(By the way, if there's anybody else around here who is into "contemporary worship" music, check out worshiptherock.com...)

Got some shopping done (Fry's groceries is having some really good "case lot" sales, so I'm buying a bunch of things to donate to the food bank), etc. etc. The Formula 1 racers are in China this weekend, and the best time for a race in China works out to midnight Arizona time, so I was up late last night and expect to be up even later tonight. Tomorrow afternoon will be crash 'n' burn time, I'm sure.

In the early days of Octothorpe, Mad Dog (the artist formerly known and Bro) used to take Stubs out somewhere he had never been before every Friday for "cultural diversity Friday". We went to a lot of different places, but one afternoon we found ourselves at Chuck's door. Mad Dog refused to set foot in the place.

Is this a spelling and/or grammatical error Spud?

Just though I should point it out. Can't have glasshouses calling kettles black now, can we.

No, it is not. He was formerly known as something and that something is Bro. Or one could say that he is formerly known and he is Bro. Perhaps he has been both known as an artist and as Bro at some point in the past. You see, there a million possible correct interpretations, and only one wrong one.

Now how do you lock these threads?

Just thought I'd point out that you left the "T" off of thought.

This is the little known former-present tense.

Saturday: Went to a sukkot gathering at my cousin's place in Berkeley.

Sunday: Catching up on Stargate: Atlantis. I don't know why I keep watching this show. It's pretty terrible.

Maybe I'll also work on comics.

qotd: I kind of lost steam on my album but I intend to finish it someday.

Hey Hoblit: I know that you're a busy guy and all, but I hope that you're catching the Rays game tonight. While I'm pulling for Da Sawx, I'll cheer the Rays if they make the series. Big game! Note: I did not say 'root' for fear of a Caravan Ray snicker-fest.

Don't be afraid to use the HUGE (bold) font in my defense, brother.

Of coarse, I could have made an error. Or on the other hand - I could be including them on purpose as part of a perverse mind game. Which is it?
I suppose its' a mute point.

(BTW: it's "defence")

QOTD: currently, i am at 86 songs written and recorded for this year. my goal is 100. i have a six song suite i wrote during FAWM that i never recorded (and don't yet count toward my total). so, i am looking to record at least basic versions of these 6 songs. those, plus songfight will bring me very close to 100 songs for 2008 (especially if songfight keeps moving at this new accelerated pace).

Other news: i got married on saturday. :D

If you're going to bother to actually point out the things he obviously put in on purpose, the "its'" and "mute" should also be "it's" and "moot," respectively.
