Having had to put up with the crappy sound chip in the DS in a professional capacity, I had no expectations of it sounding at all decent.

Apparently the ugly as sin, made for Japanese school girls, DSi has better sound.

Yeah, that's the part of the DSi press release I found most interesting. The sound capability in the DS as it stands is basically a slightly-improved version of the GBA's, which in turn was just the SNES's with more channels and sample memory. Oh and it only does 32KHz output for some reason, and can't interpolate samples at all (which is the main thing which leads to its trademark grainy sound).

i guess the sound you get out of it is proportional to how much time you take making it. i have made some pretty cool sounding stuff so far, and youtube has full songs that sound pretty incredible for a $25 game cartridge (and a lot of stuff that sounds like the default shit sound it starts you out with). between this, jam sessions ds, and the micro br, i may never have to submit another "shitty acoustic g+g song". it'll be all "shitty g+ds songs" from now on with 32KHz outputs and no interpolation.

hey has anyone posted up any tracks they've done with the KORG DS-10 ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KORG_DS-10 ) or used it in any songfights?

Here is one track I did with it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OVv-Mt13Rpc

I never got it, actually... It's been on my wish list since it came out, though. Maybe I should spend the Best Buy gift card in my wallet on it... Cool stuff.

i did "i am a target" with the DS10 and jam sessions. it's not great.
i did "purple tongue", "radio ready" and "client no. 9" with jam session for the DS as the guitar sounds.
i haven't had the patience to really work out a good sound for the DS10.
