We went to the Guggenheim Museum today. Very disappointing shows. Going to a dinner party at friends tonight. Adults only. Phew. Them hopefully some recording tonight, if I don't drink too much wine. I also have to do some work, but that will likely slide to tomorrow.

That's whassup.

Re-coding portions of the archive. Fun.

Last night, I became friends with my guitar again. I figured out a quiet place to play and played for an hour. I did a couple of covers to warm up and some of my old material (like "Powder") and it felt good to do that and I was able to do some recordings and got them clean. So that was a very good night.

I also did "test shots" for my film for my kids last night. Those came out pretty good as well. I also did some research (i,e. watched a bunch of similar short films), that was fun.

Tonight, I'm split between playing music again, doing some action figure painting for the film or working on writing for my wrestling game. I love being busy.

I've been avoiding some coding (just plain ole' HTML) but it is definitely in my near future.

Qotd: = Therapy.

Whenever Ghost Town Gridlock has a gig I always feel like I'm in direct competition for the band's affection against our sister band The Funeral Dazies. Every member of GTG is IN TFD. The line-up is slightly different and it has it's own lead singer. (He's really good) I'm the lead singer of GTG and we do less gigs because TFD generally does better. So whenever GTG DOES play I feel like...I don't know, like I have to make it worth it to the guys.

Well, tonight that fear came up and I had a moment to myself before we went on stage. I thought about it and figured out that I could only do the best I can and if the band didn't really want to do GTG gigs then they wouldn't be here now nor would we have accepted past or future gigs. So armed with that I confidently entered the stage.

I immediately forget about everything in my life the moment I'm on stage. In reference to yesterday's QotD, I totally immerse myself in my alter-ego. Tonight, I did that and we had the best Ghost Town Gridlock show yet. In risk of tooting our own horn, we did fantastic. My voice was in tune and the sound was perfect. We rocked that stage after two slower bands had played. (Still have no idea why they invited US, we are nothing like them.) We played so well that when we announced our last song people screamed out "TWO MORE!". We pulled one out of our ass because we had played just about everything we had.

We played two more. We found it hard to load out because people were stopping us with questions and compliments.

It was affirmation for me. Thanks for reading. Because that's whassup!

qotd: Out of town at my aunt's funeral. Seeing a bunch of family I haven't seen since the last death in the family.

When I get back home, I'll keep working on setting up my "recording studio" (quotes mandatory for my setup).

And what did I end up doing? Watching Hulk Hogan's Celebrity Championship Wrestling (!!!) and getting an X-Box 360 for my b'day (Ah, the simple joys of Burnout).

It's already halfway over!

You can see Episodes 1 & 2 here.

Watching Todd Bridges, Trishelle (from the Real World), Butterbean, Erin "Tabitha" Murphy, Tiffany, Dustin Diamond, Dennis Rodman, Frank Stallone, Nikki Zieing and Danny Bonaduce wrestle is such a beautiful train wreck.

I can't believe I just watched all 6 of the vids in your link, Niv. It kind of sucks you in, doesn't it?

Wow, I never set foot outside of my apartment all weekend. I feel like such a shut-in.

I know the scene, dude. A few scarves over the lampshades, hot tub after dessert, then draw a set of keys out of a vase. Yeah...groovy. 8)

I played a few shows over the weekend. I did a military appreciation event at a local Masonic lodge, and then I drove up to The Balsams. And when I got home I blogged about it. It was real nice to get back out on the circuit (such as it is up here). October was a very slow month.

I was in Buffalo for the weekend. We happened to be going on the same weekend that my cousin's wife's birthday party was happening, so we went to an 80's style roller rink party. I actually wore roller skates for the first time in who knows when... didn't fall down.

I went out to Ybor City Friday night. I had a gig on Saturday night...

I seem to take out a lot of garbage. Not sure how it fills up so fast. My kitchen trash can is big. It's one of those old school galvanized metal jobbies like the ones they use in stomp that holds a full size lawn and garden trash bag. 30 gallon I think is the size. Not sure how I became the official trash taker outer guy, but it's like this ingrained thing as if I was born with it. I generally argue any household chores that are asked of me....before I do them. But taking out the trash is one of those things that I just do, like brushing my teeth, spraying on my axe chocolate body spray and having strange women taking bites out of me as I walk down the street, you know, the usual automatic routine stuff. But on a plus note, I've gotten really good at it. Image

I'm convinced that you really didn't have anything to say on the subject but that you really have been waiting for the perfect moment to break out that trashy smiley.
