Neko Case are very sloppy and loose. I like.
They sound kind of Song Fighty.

Very good record. But is it really sloppy? Neko is a she.

I did not know if it was a band name or a single person's name attached to the front of the band.
And yes the album is sloppy, in a good way.

I've heard some of this album here and there and I agree, it's loose and flowy, in a good way. There are some interesting chords and changes mixed in such a way to give an eeriness that goes well with her lyrics and delivery. I like that sound when I'm in a tranquilized mood. The song Razor is a good example, but I haven't heard the whole album front to back. But I couldn't listen to this unless I was relaxed.

Neko Case is a woman, not a band. She's also in the band New Pornographers. I've listened to this album many many times and I've never once thought it was "sloppy."

I'm not saying you're wrong--I'm just surprised I didn't notice it before. Anyway, it's a fantastic album, which has been out for over two years. (You're a little late to the party, fluff, but I'm glad you finally made it.

)

Yes it has been pointed out that Neko Case is the name of a woman. It is also the name of the band that she's in, though. It is the collective of people who recorded the album who are loose and sloppy.
And I am always behind on music.

I don't think so. Her band is generally referred to as Neko Case and Her Boyfriends.

From
Wikipedia:
Case recorded and toured for several years as Neko Case & Her Boyfriends before switching to just her name.
And, from the Fox Confessor page,
Fox Confessor Brings the Flood is a 2006 album by Neko Case. It was her first solo studio album in four years.
The album was recorded at Wave Lab Studios in Tucson, Arizona, except the beginning of "John Saw That Number," which was recorded in a stairwell at Toronto's Horseshoe Tavern; and "At Last," which was tracked at Toronto's Iguana studio. Case is backed by several collaborators, including bandmates Jon Rauhouse and Tom V. Ray, as well as frequent collaborators The Sadies, Giant Sand leader Howe Gelb, vocalist Kelly Hogan, Calexico's Joey Burns and John Convertino, and Canadian cohorts Brian Connelly and Paul Rigby. Rachel Flotard of Seattle punk-pop combo Visqueen also guests, as does legendary multi-instrumentalist Garth Hudson of The Band. The album was engineered by Craig Schumacher and Chris Schultz, and produced and mixed by Neko Case and Darryl Neudorf.
My point is just that the band which was playing together to record the album was sloppy and loose, and also, it was released under the name Neko Case, which IMO serves as both a band name and an artist name. Which makes the pronouns tricky. If I had known it was a single person before I would have just said, "Her backing band is very loose" and saved a whole ridiculous conversation.
I mean, frankie big face is both your stage name and your band's name (when you record as a band), right?

Yeah, except that Frankie Big Face isn't my actual name.
Since you're using Wikipedia as your source, you may want to note that Fox Confessor Brings the Flood is listed as a SOLO album and that she was honored as Female Artist of the Year and that her "Associated Acts" include Neko Case and Her Boyfriends, but not Neko Case (the band).
Neko Case is the name of a solo artist, not a band.

Yes, I understand that.
When I said "they" in my original post I was referring to the entire ensemble of people recording the album. I have been suitably corrected by this point, repeatedly, so in my original post, just replace

I appreciate that you are trying to rile me up but all you're doing is coming across like an autistic anal-retentive dingus.

Actually, her actual name is Elsie Shefschenko, but don't let me interrupt the love-fest.
No, wait, let me interrupt once more, I think I have a solution. Niko Case is very sloppy and loose. That would apply whether it was a band or a person, no? Case closed, I think. Well, unless you don't agree about the sloppy and loose part. Or the very. In which case, do carry on.

Shwew! It must be terribly exhausting to always have to be right. I prefer happy go lucky.

Not really. I mean, riling you up is just a bonus. This post is actually the first time you've (almost) acknowledged that you were wrong and even then, you simply said you've been "corrected," not that you were mistaken. And it had to come with name-calling, so thanks for that as well.
This is the type of argument that typically lasts ten seconds in real life, but on a message board, it tends to drag on and then does seem "ridiculous." But nowhere did I attack you personally and I probably wouldn't have in a real-life situation. It just points to how little respect you have for me and how much you can't stand to be wrong about something no matter how trivial.
Now I'll let you have the last word because that's the other thing you would never forfeit.

Do you think we could sell these forum spats as script material for a sitcom?

You know what, Frankie? You're right. I don't respect you. Why should I, considering that historically, the only times you ever get into a conversation with me is to prove me wrong in the most dickish way possible?
Okay, you "win," because I just had to post after you posted a comment saying how I couldn't let you get the last word. After specifically asking for a response.
Congratulations, you got me to respond.

Analytical people are fun. It's as if the last line of every post is saying, checkmate.

I have this album. I think it sounds pretty bad myself. The recording/mix of it. Maybe that is the sloppy part?
