Hey everyone.

DRC: the niviverse is busy as usual. But my usual lunch partners are missing so I'm spending a quiet lunch and doing some SF forum catch-up. Speaking of SF, I am way ahead of the game for this year's top 200 list. I have already listed to about 90% of this year's songfight songs and weeded out my faves. The only thing is there are a lot of faves. Good work, SF.

QotD: If you could replace a member of any band with a Songfighter, what replacement would you make?

Would you replace Jim Morrison with Deshead? Would you Make Melvin the lead singer of Dinosaur Jr.? What choices would you make?

QOTD: Paco and I replace the Calcium twins, but we'll wear their same outfits and wigs.

qotd: Bright Eyes, replace the lead singer with Octothorpe's Mad Dog.

QotD: Replace Dolores O'Riordan of The Cranberries with you, Niveous. I think that lends them a more realistic voice rather than the ethereal whining we've put up with to date.

That's a good call. I can't stand her.

Suicidal Tendencies and Infectious Grooves. Both bands had Mike Muir as their lead singer. I liked the bands, but I hate Mike Muir. I wanna replace him with Leaf.

I'd kind of like to hear Paco Del Stinko fill the shoes of Glenn Tillbrook from Squeeze.

Please be careful with the usage of the word 'singer' when you are talking about over rated punk outfits.

For years, I would have thought this comment utter blasphemy, but now I think I may actually be better than my former idol. Life's funny like that.

I nominate Rone as the new Trent Reznor.

Is that the one that sang "Cool for Cats" or the one that sang "Up the Junction"?

I like it. Hope you don't hate my Hollywood Wax song though. There's no techno in it. :P

I've got no problem with Dolores O'Riordan, but I'd be happy to hear the bloke from Klownhole replace Enya.

In my little utopia,
Lord Of Oats replaces Les Claypool (vocals only)
Puce replaces the vocalist and producer of Helmet
MC Eric B replaces DJ Kurupt for numerous rappers
Fluffy replaces Kirk hammett, but gets booed out for being a pussy
Plain Songs replaces fluffy, but gets booed out for breaking strings
BLT replaces Plain Songs as lead guitarist
Halen 99 kicks BLT off stage and replaces guitar with synth

I'd say Gert &/or the Booty Chesterfield Trio could replace the vibe of most of the bands on the classic rock radio FM stations.

IRL: Not the most successful day for me. I'm getting really tired of spending my vacation at the courthouse.

He sang Up The Junction, and Pulling Mussels From A Shell, and Black Coffee In Bed, and like that.

...and download their greatest hits album, you'll thank yourself later. ( Up the Junction is my favorite song by them although they are probably most popular for Tempted )

Oh no. Leave them right where they are. Mee-oww! Happy anny, BLT!

As for Squeeze: A most excellent greatest hits album, indeed. And although I've tarnished a few songs I admire, I'd be scared to hear the end result of me singing them! Thanks for the nod though, Jim. I might suggest BLT in a Led Zeppelin situation. I've often heard a Bob Plant-ish quality in his voice.

Never liked the Cranberries either.

I bought it on cassette, many years ago. They thanked me for not stealing it. I can just never remember which bloke was which.

I'd think I'd prefer to hear Paco do "Cool for Cats" - complete with fake accent

Ha! I love that song. I'll put it on my list of covers, maybe with some certain folks as collaborators. Hmm...who could do some jaunty piano around here?
