In honer of René François Ghislain Magritte (21 November 1898 – 15 August 1967), I give you.....
Ok, this thread started late, so I can't ask everyone to go to Google images and show us your surrealism in the style of Magritte. But feel free to if you can.
Question of the Day 1:
multiple part question. Is it a guitar? If not, then what is it? If so, why?
Question of the Day 2: How was your day

QotD: It is not a guitar. It is a digital photographic representation of a guitar.
QotD2: My day sucked. Best not dignify it with discussion.

QOTD: depending on your display technology, of course, but it is really just a bunch of organized points of different colored light.
What was the other question? Oh yeah. I had a hangover, so can I have a do-over?

Well, sorry to hear about your day Jon. But just remember the great words of Barack. He said, "
Look....uh...uh, the sun will come out tomorrow, bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow there will in fact be sun. Just thinkin' about tomorrow, clears away the cobwebs and the sorrow 'til there's none!"
See Jon, everything is going to be just fine.......just fine.
Ray, how would you
rate said hangover?

Here.
QOTD1: It is Schroedinger's guitar.
QOTD2: I had an okay day very tired and a bad headache, but I like my job, and on the eighth day God created ibuprofen.
Or was that people?
PS: J$ - I haven't forgotten, still working

I just want to say - I love Magritte.
I'm not a real arty person - but I have always loved surrealism - and especially Magritte.
If I was a complete wanker - I would probably try to say that my songwriting was Magritte-inspired-Surrealist- music. It is lucky I am not a complete wanker, isn't it.
This is not a country and western song.

No. It's not a Strat. Les Paul's are for tossers.

If Magritte posted to online bulletin boards it might look a little like the following.

I am glad that people here understand what Magritte was getting at with the original "ceci n'est pas." Most people assume he was just being contrarian, and end up misquoting him in all sorts of stupid ways (like making the tagline for their weblog "ceci n'est pas une weblog").
