Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich caught trying to auction off Barack Obama’s vacant Senate seat.
Is this a new thing or did Blagojevich just get sloppy and got caught?
I don't want to say what I'm thinking, but I'm sure that you can guess. 8)

I really think it's new. Even the prosecuter seemed genuinely shocked by the idea of a governor trying to sell a senate seat. And to do so so blatantly.
Corruption is old -it's old and entrenched in Illinois- but this guy took it to a new and exciting level. They're all calling him a delusional sociopath, amongst other [expletive deleted] things. That's heady stuff for Illinois, who've sent three governors to prison over the last 35 years. Now it looks as though they're sending two in a row. This guy's special.

I've seen the way these politicians stay in prison. He must have wanted a vacation on the tax payers, lol. I just don't understand why he would be so blatantly retarded when he knows the feds are watching every move they make. The only thing I can think of is that he knew that his mob had inside people in the FBI and thought he was Teflon. But there is always the young new guy that they haven't gotten to yet. But he is already out of jail and back to work, so I guess the judge is being paid off or they threatened to kill his family.
...yes, I watch movies so I'm an expert on how this stuff works.

Apparently, Blagoff didn't actually know the feds were watching his every move. He really should have at least had a clue, though...
Oh yeah, and he's a bona fide mustache-twirling old-tyme movie villian.
If he doesn't step down, and SOON, the dems are going to eat his balls for breakfast. If not, that senate seat might stay vacant until mid-2009. NOT ACCEPTABLE.
