Official Sidewalk Backline Details

Post by BenKrieger »

A few of you asked about this. Here you go:

AUDIO/VIDEO BACKLINE:
Full PA, DIs, microphones
Piano
Yamaha Rydeen Drum Kit
Marshall JCM 900 50w 2x12 combo

Drummers will need to bring own cymbals, snare, HH clutch and kick pedal.

DVD player and sceen/projector: Let me know if you would like to use the video equipment. If you want to connect your laptop, you will need an RGB 15-prong MALE adapter that looks like this:

Well if we are just going to connect this to a laptop, we don't need to burn it onto a CD. We can just run it off the laptop. We just need the cord.

How does this sound for the Sidewalk show line-up?

I'm gonna be bringing my camera and laptop, so if Sidewalk/somewhere near Sidewalk has wireless, then I'll hopefully be able to upload some photos/videos of the afternoon event during the nighttime event. So make sure you all look beautiful. Hurrah! If the connection's good enough perhaps I'd be able to set up Skype so people from SF can watch along? Not sure how it'd work, but it's a possibility.

I've also been a-searchin' for some songs to sing, and I think I've found a couple of SF ones that I can do. I'll bring some cover songs as well in case we decide that we all want to jam along to Baby One More Time or something :D

Is there anything I should bring munchies-wise? I can probably bake something delicious on Saturday to bring along. Do we all enjoy delicious baked goods? I make pretty awesome brownie roll-out cookies or lemon bars or cupcakes or somethingsomething. I'll figure out something delicious.

So pumped to see you alllll! :)

...is what I said. Doesn't much matter to me when I play, really, I'm flexible. I'm not likely to leave before the night is over, 'cause I don't want to drive all the way to NYC and not see every SFer I can. :)

I was just saying I hope a solo set is okay for the evening show, that's all. On account of my band flaking out on me.

And a Jim Tyrrell solo set is still a good thing.

I'm split on who should open the Sidewalk Show. Opening a SF show with a Fightmaster sounds like a good idea but opening with JimT ain't a bad idea either. Figure that one out amongst yourselves.

I was just thinking unless one of XTRG were planning on bringing their laptop, then it would be easier and lighter to carry in handy DVD format. Bill, it would be probably be wise to make a DVD as a backup anyway, if you have time. Just burn the film three times over so it runs 1/2 hr. Then when we meet on Sunday, if you haven't had time, or it's been forgotten, then I still have time to run round in a mad panic trying to find a shop to see me the correct lead!

Hi all,

I decided to drive in for certain. I will definitely bring: a dynamic mic and cable, a music stand, drum sticks; some snacks and sodas for the picnic. I will maybe bring my piano.

I can easily bring if requested: misc cables/lines; 2nd music stand; tuner; drum stuff (snare, cymbals, kick pedal); percussion (conga, bongos, tambourine, bagful of other little things); little bass amp (for practice not for the bar); maybe other stuff if you just ask. I won't bring crap like this unless someone may want to borrow it - and help lug it back and forth from my car.

I can also bring a couple people from point to point along with me, of course. See you sunday,

Elaine

Yup, though I was thinking more of the Prospect Park gig than the evening show. The #3 spot at the Sidewalk is good for me, though.

Any chance Glennny & Friends could start things off? Our drummer has to wake up in Jersey at 5:30AM. I had originally told them we'd go on between 8:00 and 9:00. At the time I hadn't realized how late everything was starting. Going on at 11:30 or wherever it ends up might be a deal breaker for my rhythm section.

I'm catching the enthusiasm too. Maybe I'll do a couple piano-girl things when we're breaking stuff down, if I have any voice left at the end of the 15-hour party.
