Since yesterday's thread didn't encompass the entire weekend I will create a new thread for Sunday, MWA HA HA HA
drc: I'm feeling a bit better from yesterday. Maybe I'll go on that hike I meant to do yesterday, but more likely I'll do it tomorrow since I have MLK day off. I think I'll go to the grocery store in a bit and see if the place burned down or what.
qotd: Do you have MLK day off? I do!

qutd: what the heck is MILK day? irregardless, I do have it off, as the oil patch is so recessionated that I seem to have all the days off.
[edit] that's funny, the forum's built in spell checker says that I spelled "recessionated" wrong. I could have sworn it had 2 S's.

Oh, you mean DRMLKJ day? Why didn't you say that?
No.
And what's worse is I don't get next Monday off for Australia Day either.

Wow, I forgot all about that, and I've never heard it referred to as "MLK" day. Honest, I don't live in a cave in greenland. It reminds me of when I lived in Edmonton and had a lot of chinese friends. They asked me once what I was doing for May long weekend, except they called it "may long", and I heard "mei long", and replied that I didn't celebrate chinese holidays, but I'd be up for hanging with them anyway.

Some do, some don't. Most people don't, actually. It's a federal holiday but most private corporations don't give every federal holiday off.

No, I have to work. Blah! I need three-day weekends. What it means is we can't play volleyball because the school is closed.

It's a corporate holiday, but as "essential personnel," I'm at work.
Works out for me, though, 'cause it's quiet like a weekend day and I get to defer 12 hours off in the future - presumably when it's warm outside.

[edit: Oh, crap. I had problems with the forum timing out and tried to "fix" an edit to a later post, and... erased this one.]
QotD: I had the day off, but I worked. I love floating holidays.
DRC: It was a much longer post, basically stating I've been working on software to create CD+Graphics discs, as used in karaoke.
The MP3+G format uses a pair of files, one a standard MP3, and the other a "CDG" file containing the graphics data. These files can also be used to create a new CD+G disc.
Once it is looking good, I'll be posting a link to a sample. (Using a popular SongFight title.)
