So, some of you may or may not have heard of the lizard people, who currently rule the earth.
example 1

..just google it.

Anyway, it has come to my attention that a friend of mine who I have not seen in a while ( a drummer no less....no jokes now, this is serious) has read the book that ties every single crazy theory together, and he believes the lizard people are real... and has now dedicated his life to fighting this evil \. apparently there is no talking him out of it, and he has been placing "psychic " bombs around the local radio towers to protect the city.

How does this happen???? Ironically, when he was told that I had read the book, he told the person telling him "yeah... he'd understand...he'd get it".

NO I DON'T..

soooo....do you believe the lizard people rule the earth? have you ever heard of this before?

I worry that this dude is gonna do something harmfully crazy....

It doesn't sound like they're ruling anything.

sounds like we're totally pwning them at the moment, when all we have is some sicilian kid poking at a severed V-head with a stick.

WE'RE WINNING!

I haven't seen any around here. Though thinking about it, my neighbours are very strange.
Hmm.

Yeah, there's a band that's all about this shit. You can check them out here.
http://www.galacticfederationoflove.com/. Download their song "reptiles". My favorite of theirs is "hollow earth"....they're amazing live.

Is this man your drummer?

Image

They killed Diana, you know. Damn lizard people.

http://www.rotten.com/library/bio/authors/david-icke

Actually, vaguely serious for a moment, the various strands that I have come across of 'Lizard People from the Planet Bongo are eating our babies. And talking with their mouths full' have an alarming tendency towards anti-semetism. They're all in league with Zog, or somesuch.

Therefore I reccommend hitting your friend around the head repeatedly with a New Age Hardback until he acquieses. Don't worry - he's a drummer. It can't possibly do any real damage ...

Having said that, I learnt all this from Fortean Times. Which I can't get in my local W H Smiths any more, and the man behind the counter only has one arm and is called Kurt Connors. Could there be a connection?

Yeah, that's not him, but thanks for the link... that's the nutjob who wrote the book... it's a wicked read though... why can lunatics appear so smart?

By the way... "friend" may be a little to....close... we've never been more than replacements for each other in bands... sounds like I may be getting more gigs out of the deal!!

This 'friend' it's you, isn't it? As in 'it's for a friend'?

I don't know how anyone can sound smart when they're saying shape-shifting blood-drinking aliens exist, but I happen to know that not only did Andy Balham see David Icke speak live, he also wrote a song about it ...

Absolutely true. It was good value at £25 (approx. $100 ) for eight hours of 'information'. We went along thinking most of the audience would be there for a laugh, but oh no, quite the reverse. Still, got a song out of it (the opening verse is inspired by the lyrics of CW McCall's 'Convoy').

Yep<<<sigh>>>, if they're making tin foil hats-- It's serious. (Sorry, I SO had to get that out of my system.)

(Although I'll probably come back through and delete this later-- Still working up to "succinct"... and, in a few hundred thousand words or less, I think I might just finish the synopsis. In the meantime,)

I haven't actually had time to "google" the newest "revelation" on an old theme, though I did give the page you tagged a brief run through. Dang they covered a bunch of ground, up to and including ley lines.

Have I ever heard of this before? (Lizard people)
-- yep, or at the very least, its building blocks--

Especially if you count a multi level melding of quite a number of "current" science fiction stories and ancient legends, for example:
"V" (circa 80's)-- The two-legged lizard alien characters in that short run series assumed a humanoid costume to infiltrate and gain trust and acceptance.

"To Serve Man" (Vintage Twilight Zone)-- A text that was at first purported as a directive manual for alien delegates was actually a cookbook.

"Signs" (M. Knight Shamalot)-- Did you notice how he intertwined religion, miracles and predestiny into his debacle of alien invasion?

Primordial Soup as the bouillabaisse of all things (something is decidedly fishy about that theory.)

Mythical monsters of many other styles and sorts, their form often dependent on societal influence and religious affliliations, exchanging "demons" for "alternate life forms" where <<<cough>>> appropriate. (Much of those monsters were spawned by ignorance of science and the natural world and a need to understand that which they couldn't define through experience)

The spin off expansion on theory books that often capitalize on "popular" trends (example from the stated page, "The Biggest Secret by David Ickey".)
Leaf wrote: that's the nutjob who wrote the book... it's a wicked read though... why can lunatics appear so smart?

Because they ARE smart, as it applies to capitalizing on deep seated fears and knowing how to work a room. Far different knowledge than that which they claim to have-- but it works. (But hey, it could be fun to write a horror movie about how all the characters and incidents depicted in horror movies are based on actual events. Don't get me wrong, I love SciFi and Horror, but I still look for it in the fiction section of the bookstore.)

etc, etc., etc., because those are just the first off the cuff few

How does it happen? There are lots of ways:

Don't know if you've been tracking the upswing in bible sales and folks trying to "find" religion since 2001, looking for the "magikal" to resolve the mundane. (or I could beat the heathen drums and note the current trend in superhero worship)
Same thing, only different,
Cults, "White Power", "Suicide Bombers", and other such moronic leagues of injustice which depend on providing its followers with an illusion of control and empowerment. (Something to believe in.)-- There are those that feel lost and directionless without a shepherd, even if the only place he's herding them is to the slaughter house.

Watching the fanatic/converts in action/ spouting their doctrine, often seems incomprehensible because you can't get there from here.
(There really ARE people who BELIEVE in the Death Clock, Psychic Friends, shining a flashlight into eternity with John Edward, sites such as "Future Feed Forward"--which just so happens to be a really enjoyable parody of potential outcomes, or that the word of the Bible is INalterable FACT and that the word of God may never be modified or changed... BTW,I heard there's a class on Aramaic starting up next Tuesday.)

Dissatifaction with reality, people who immerse themselves in an alternate truth... or when truth itself, must often be suspended to support faith, rationalize, etc.

If your concept of "harmfully crazy" includes more "witch burnings", "crusades", Eco Terrorists types defending the right to clean air by blowing up SUV dealerships, and ProLIFErs, killing abortionists as a statement on the right to life, rather than NewAgers and the "great unwashed" fashioning lovely tin foil pate pyramids for the masses at Spir-Ho shows... Then-- Yup, the potential for mayhem is definitely there.

I like the that he's had 'FREAK' tattooed across his chest. Just in case you didn't pick up on the subtle clues alluding to that fact :)

I got this from the article:

LIZARD PEOPLE IN MONTANA!

I been to Montana. I think they're on to something here. Lizards love sheep and lizards, being cold blooded, would naturally move to Montana. You know, because reptiles love snow and cold.

if they are ruling us, it's from a clandestine moon station. that is why we aren't allowed to make any more moon landings.

I don't know, there are lots of people running around who believe in conspiracy theories. And there are lots of people running around who question everything. You apply these two concepts to someone whose brain is wired just a taaaaaaad bit differently, and you get someone who believes in lizard people. What makes someone dangerous is when they can't function in society because they're so convinced of what they believe that it cripples their ability to interact with others. I think I read somewhere that the Timecube guy can't go anywhere by himself because he just starts freaking out on people.

Totally. And what 's blowing me away about it, (although it really shouldn't) is the fact that I know this guy, he's like 38, and he's never ...well, never DONE anything like this before, (that I know of, which is kinda obvious, but I'll state that anyway) so it's utterly bizzare that a seemingly rational, normal guy can go off the deep end all of a sudden. From my perception, of course.

Of course what would be even stranger would be if it were true...

which would lead me to the conclusion that "deepthroat" is actually.... Marc Singer.

Nice info Freudian, by the way.

Therein lies the true joy of debate (and reality), information can be fairly easily assembled or manipulated to support whichever side of an answer the person arguing cares to be on.
(Take a Poll, if you like-- but be sure to word your questions carefully-- IF you want the percentages to bear out your personal views.)

In certain societies, raving lunatics whom modern intellectuals could PC term as "individuals with a more delicate mental status", would likely have been considered "touched by the hand of God", "blessed", or "Prophets".
So-- are they delusional? Raving lunatics?-- or specially gifted and capable of seeing past a single plane of reality?

Modern psychiatry, and the DSM IV, would label people who hear voices not belonging to themselves as schizoid, and those who base their actions on such "external directives", deeply disturbed and in desperate need of pharmaceutical intervention.

Whose perception of truth is correct?

Hell and I can even think of a recent horror movie that played both sides of that coin. The movie was called "They", I think it was a Wes Craven film. Rent the DVD and check out the alternate ending. The shown in theatres version of the ending was far more satifying, IMO. The alternate was the equivalent of Bobby Ewing spending an entire season of Dallas in the Shower.

Course, in many works of scifi or horror fiction, the main character's interpretation of the world was altered by a physical trauma. (One short story by S. King had an average overweight housewife having conversations with a picture of Jesus and rewiring the TV after accidently shooting herself in the head and afterwards probing the wound with a pencil.) Personal loss and other physical and mental traumas are also quite often employed to bring about "revelations". Chemical spills, insect bites and other things that generally maim, kill, or at the very least--artfully disfigure, instead turn the victim into a hero, complete with special powers. Supposin that's what a person could otherwise refer to as a "happy accident", eh?

Wouldn't it be strange if it were true...

Leaf wrote:which would lead me to the conclusion that "deepthroat" is actually.... Marc Singer.
Marc Singer, Master of Beasts, eh? Never know, he may just be the connecting link to the underground conspiracy. Mebbe the Hip Cola can help me start painting the signs?

I saw a stack of them at Walmart-- slightly irregular (discounted by the case)
Also, a rather impressive selection of Not Quite Dead Sea scrolls. Disclaimer-- Individual results may vary... since the outsourcing trend, miracles, divine intervention , Acts of God and works of art just ain't what they used to be.
Customers who have purchased Seventh Seals also bought:
Original scribblings of Picasso, now available thru costco.com

Sorry, I thought they were the real deal too...but they don't have the proper markings on the bottom. It should have the symbol for Phi. I'm afraid those ones are knock-offs from somewhere in Asia. Same outfit that is cloning expensive golf drivers and running shoes...
