The Smashing Pumpkins website wrote:Billy Corgan is currently searching for talented musicians to join him. If you have an exceptional drumming ability and a desire to be part of a massive creative and progressive musical project with a rich 20-year history, then continue reading below.

The Smashing Pumpkins are continuing to make music after the departure of original member Jimmy Chamberlin. When Jimmy originally auditioned for The Smashing Pumpkins, he was playing in a locally touring jazz band that was playing weddings and street fairs. It just goes to show that you never know where the next big talent will come from.

The Smashing Pumpkins are taking submissions for recording and touring drummers. There may be multiple positions open for this call for entries.

What to submit:

* Resume - include a list of bands, shows, awards, education
* Photograph / headshot
* Any music / audio you have showcasing your talents. Links to digital files are encouraged.
* Video links are also encouraged

To submit your information, send an email with resume and links attached to pumpkinsdrummer@gmail.com.

Auditions will be held April 14th in Los Angeles for drummers who are looking to play with The Smashing Pumpkins.
If may mean working for a megalomaniac but it's a damn good gig if you can get it, right?

Yeah, its a huge opportunity that comes with a huge catalyst.

YAY , BIG TIME!

OH YEAH, Billy Corgan.

(Besides the fact that I can't stand his voice)
(Besides the fact that I can't play drums at a professional level)

I think this thread triggered a dream I had during my nap yesterday. I ran into Billy and D'arcy and it was like they were old friends I hadn't seen in awhile. We hung out in their 1930's style black, red, and white hotel room, and I was like "Billy, what HAPPENED to you, man? The Smashing Pumpkins are THE band that inspired me to pick up a guitar in the first place! But this?! It's NOT the pumpkins without James and D'arcy, and now Jimmy's leaving? All this is is Zwan 2.0! You ought to be ashamed." (Which is pretty much how I feel about the whole thing. Heh. )

And he did, in fact, seem ashamed.
