If anyone would like to make a song from lyrics I wrote (about the geography of Constantinople), please contact me either through this post or e-mail. It's for extra credit (well the lyrics part was, I just decided to take an extra step), so... it's not nessecary.

Other than that, if you're looking for someone to write a song, I might be able to. I'm not fantastic at it at all, though, in any way. So don't count on me.

Post the lyrics up here - I'm sure there will be some punters out there who will have a go at it for you.

I've got to admit - a song about the geography of Constantinople (not Istanbul) does sound appealing

Totally.

Anyway, the lyrics are as follows:

Of all the historic cities in the east
Hong Kong, London, Cairo, Dehli, and Paris
There's just one ancient city's geography
That totally rocks to say the least

Constantinople!
Constantinople!
The yellow rose of Turkey!

Well when I want to find her
I know where she be between
The Balkan Peninsula
and Asia Minor!
Constantinople!

"Hey man! You going to Constantinople this weekend?"
"Heck yeah, man! Let's ride!"

The human head that lies in the bed
Next to Romeo and Juliet
Commands us toward where Ceaser doesn't roam
Constantinople!

No, being the capital just isn't good enough
We've got to have water surrounding us on three sides
Then, we'll build a massive wall around the city
So Contantine and his friends can walk around
IN THE BUFF!
Constantinople!
In the buff!

'Cause there's a fantasy wonderland
Fairy retreat in
Constantinople!
Mystical unicorn
sugary fluffy kitten in
CONSTANTINOPLE!

I can't be the only one living in...
Constantinople!

Dude, I hope you didn't leave your date waiting there. 'Cause if so...

No, kind of a shame I didn't see this when it was relevant. I saw Istanbul last summer, and it was amazing.
