Today is my grandma's 98th birthday. Talking to her on the phone is very difficult because she can't remember what she said more than 10 seconds ago. She can still form new memories about things which happened but even that's spotty. For example, she has trouble remembering I live in San Francisco and my brother lives in Boston, and her sense of time is completely out of whack. She also thinks she stopped driving voluntarily, and that she has no health problems. Whatever keeps her going, I guess.
qotd: How old is your oldest living relative? What sort of shape are they in?

DRC: Grocery shopping, yard work, mixing and mastering my STIY entry.
QOTD: Hmmm...my last two grandparents passed away last year, so now my immediate family is just me and my mom, and she's 58. Genetics are against me - we have a history of cancer on my dad's side of the family, and a history of heart disease on my mom's.

My uncle Bobby is about 77, my mother will be 70 late this year. That's it. My father's mother lived into her 90's, but has been gone for many years. Not many relatives.
I finished recording and mixed down three songs today. Very productive on that front.

QotD: My great-grandmother is still alive. She just turned 100 last month. She's physically very frail, but mentally she's doing quite well.

I just learned within the past couple years, my grandfather (whom we lost due to Alzheimers almost three years ago) has an aunt who lives in the Cambridge (Mass) area... I believe she's either 101 or will be later this year. I've never met her but by all accounts she's about as healthy and active as one could hope to be by that age.

My great grandma was 101, but she passed away a few years ago.
