I was looking for a twitter-related thread, and was quite surprised to find that there wasn't one! Here's Rachael and myself:

Additionally, I hadn't heard of twibes until today, but it only seemed fitting that songfight should have it's own twibe.

ROCK!

I have one of those Tweeter things but I never use it. The only reason I have it is so I can get the latest official Faith No More updates on my phone.

So, another place on the webz where people can post their uninteresting crap that no one wants to hear about.

I just exhaled

I just took a breath

I had a pretzel and dipped it in mustard

I had to pee again. I drank root beer. This time I flushed perfectly

I just took a piss. I didn't hit the flush lever right and it half flushed. I had to push it again.

By the way, here's my Twitter :P >> http://twitter.com/BillysLittleTri

Nighty-night world, I'll tweet to you from my sleep. Watch out.

Well, that's a start. You are now on your way to enlightenment. Don't say I didn't warn you.

I have a couple of twitter accounts, but as I use them only to get the SF titles sent to my cell when they're posted, we just ain't gonna go there.

Website monitoring software, in this case Simon, sends an update to...

...account #1 which is subscribed to by...

...account #2, which receives the tweet, which shows up on my phone.

Convoluted, but that's how I roll, yo (and no, it's not running 24/7, just during the brief period when titles should be appearing).

Why does my picture on the songfight Twibe look like this >> Image when I have a pic of myself?

Also, what is the purpose of the Twibe? I posted something in my lame form of humor to further people's low opinion of me, but it only shows up on my Twitter page. I don't care much for Future Man, man.

Almost entirely unrelated to the subject matter at hand, I just wanted to point out that it would be awesome for somebody to start a Twibe called Qrest.

Twibes are really slow to update (up to 24 hours...says so right on the page.)

In defense of Twitter, by Steve Lawson: Twitter sucks, so change your friends. Still not convinced, but makes some very good points.

I'm probably going to boycott twitter for as long as I can - I held off on myspace and facebook for a while too. But honestly, twitter seems a bit over the top.

Twitter seems a lot more reasonable to me than Myspace and Facebook. I'm not using any of the three, though (but I do have a Twitter account: http://twitter.com/jan_krueger).

That won't post to the twibe because the word 'songfight' is not in the body of the message.

The point of the twibe is that it will only show messages that pertain to the topic. In this case, the topic is songfight.

That is all.

ROCK!

Why so? Just curious - I haven't heard many positive things about twitter from anyone I know, so I wouldn't mind hearing an opposing viewpoint.

Maybe the interwebz just isn't for me. My twibe stiw uses smoke signews to communicate.

Congratulations! By all appearances, you're attempting to be different by refusing to enjoy anything that is currently popular! The best part is that You're not alone!

Your membership to the non-conformist, 'Indier Than Thou' segment of the population should arrive in 6-8 weeks. :D
