I plan to be in this fight. One way or another.

Not feeling particularly inspired, in spite of the great title, but I'm about to go wrestle the beast with 88 teeth, and we'll see what comes out.

Being in this fight:

Pros:
-Haven't done one in a really long while,
-Already have chorus and bridge lyrics written, and an idea for the chord progression

Cons:
-Unsure of time this coming week, especially as a friend and I are engaged in another project.
-No inspiration to write synthesize drums
-My songs never come out as good as they sound in my head when I'm writing them

OK so I written a song for this and will record it tonight. It's either incredibly catchy or I am subconsciously stealing a very familiar melody. I hope it's the former, naturally. Cute twist on the title as well, even if I say so myself.

I have an idea for this, but I fear it will turn out like last week - have an idea but it never gets done.
Oh well, I will try.

I am this close to putting something together. Just need a good vox take and a smokin' blues solo. It's tomorrow or nothing: we're leaving for Norfolk tomorrow evening. Tabby's grandmother is in the hospital...

Yeah, and here I am writing a song about cancer...

I swear, these are not related phenomena.

Edit: ... and in. I'm not taking the usual time to fuss over the minor nuances of the mix this fight - I don't have the time and half time, some review points out pretty significant change that makes the whole thing better anyway. :? MAN the lead guitar part was a bear this morning! I am evidently not a blues guitarist...

again, i had lofty goal, and again i've got a live acoustic demo.
i'm getting together a live set and didn't have much time or inspiration for this title.
yesterday, i wrote a quick number about the 20th anniversary of the June 4th massacre.
i figure if there ever was a false positive, it was the democratic movement in china in the late 80's.

I think I've got a pretty good one this time.

I've taken the criticism from the last two and put together something that, I think, reflects the comments on my previous two submissions.

I love the commentary, and, one of these days, really, one of these days, I will type up a review of each song for the week's fight.

This is a pretty specific topic. I'm interested to see where everyone goes with it.

Hey, so I thought I'd be limping back into Song Fight! this week with some unimpressive piano-girl shoegaze. Unfortunately, it's even more unimpressive than I thought. As of now, I have a scratch track in place but I seriously doubt I can fix the problems by tomorrow, much less make it sound good. Oh well, I should at least be motivated to review.

Oh good, the deadline's tomorrow. Got a concept, an intro, and a verse... maybe a chorus. Not totally chuffed with the way the computer's singing it (being flat on my back for 20-odd hours out of the day, I'm using an old scoring app. I found on the ancient music laptop instead of instruments, microphones, and suchlike).

Kinda feels like '80s pop/showtunes at this point. Not at all what I'd expected, but then getting a decent sounding acoustic guitar sound out of (what is essentially) GM voices, just ain't ever gonna happen.

We'll see, we'll see.

There were a couple of songs I really wanted to write for this title.

I didn't.

But that doesn't mean nothing got turned in...
