I'm doing it this year.
However as usual I will be away (with minimal instrumentation) for all of July, then completely out of the loop for three weeks in August (unless I can find some way of recording stuff while I'm travelling round Japan) so ...
If people are interested in collaboration of a sort, I am going to record shedloads of vocal and ukulele songs in July, which I can then farm out to anyone who's up for it to embellish / arrange / produce / make sexy. That way, one hopes, it will break up the monotomy of 50 ditties by guy 'n' ukulele (we call it G'n'U. Or at least I do. And so should you.)
Let me know if this defribulates anyone's musical heart, and we can consider the mechanics. All welcome, for one song or all of them. Just bang me a PM / e-mail.

j$, you know i'm always up for working with you... that wouldn't mean i'd have to do 50/90 though, right? i totally don't have time to do a lot of songs this year

No, no - I'll just upload the songs to a folder on my website and then people can pick and choose. Don't even have to 'finish' the song - just add something that excites you (keyboards, drums etc)
I will record to a click track to make it easier for the eletronical amongst us and make up some chord tabs as well for each song.
I really
am going to have a lot of spare time in July

I would, very much, sir! I will pm / e-mail everyone who expresses an interest at the beginning of July once the first batch of songs are up.

I'll give it a shot, but most likely fail again, much like I did with FAWM.

Not sure if I will have time to commit J$- but it would be fun to have a fiddle with some of your gear. Let me know when you have some tracks up.

Will do, CR, would love to have you on board in some capacity (though the eyes water at the thought of anyone fiddling with my gear, even virtually!) j$

1 month, 1 day - 12 songs up, another 8 recorded and waiting for mixing / contributions. Not the 25 I wanted before I went on three week holiday but have laptop so if can find cheap toy instruments there might well be a kerazzy japanese AAD coming - though husband will never forgive me of course

So, in a moment of shameless self-promotion, I have selected 10 of my 50 as a sampler of what I’ve been up to over at 5090.
In no particular order, and all but one featuring the multiple collaborative talents of Mr Andy Balham -
Alcoholiday
Parachuting German Nudists
Oddyface
We Call It Gnu
Weedy
No-D Glasses
False Positive because you can never have enough songs about zombies.
Domestic Dictator Not very funny but currently my favourite song of the 50.
Hey, Mr Banker! Because you can never have enough hateful rants about people who earn more money than you.
Where Has Good Ol’ Mister Summer Gone Written during a rainy July.
Words and notes on relevant song pages here -
