Okay, so

I ended my set with "So Aggravating," which was kind of a joke, but for some reason, the audience got way into it. They were clapping and singing along and everything... at least, until I added six or seven fake endings. Glenn literally dragging me offstage had to be one of the highlights of my evening.

Also up there: playing keyboards for Sockpuppet's "Tw3rp," and nailing it (in my opinion), despite never having heard the song before.

What would you put on your set list if you were here?

I watched the live stream for the first two and a half sets; looked like a lot of fun was had (as long as I could ignore the mic problems, it was fun to listen in, too), and if I figure out who the third guy was, I might even have a few new songs for my playlist.

QotD: I guess I would have trouble implementing most of my vocal arrangements in a live setting, so that's a rather difficult question. Songs of mine that I think would work with a sparser arrangement include: We Keep Them Alive, Green Eleven, Back From Juvie, Interesting Times and possibly In The Tank and I Am A Target. I guess it's a good thing that should I ever manage to join you for one of them live events, I'll have a lot more songs to choose from.

My set is the best damn performance I've ever given, and I am extremely grateful to everyone who backed me up. It's all too easy to focus on every little mistake but in the grand scheme they were pretty minor.

And yes, nailing tw3rp was awesome. I actually had pretty high expectations for it (since the track is so simple, which is why I was so confident in adding it in at the last minute), and we far exceeded them.

Thank you SO MUCH, Glenn, Ken, Mike, and Jon. I couldn't have done this without you. You all rock.

It was Roymond. He played his "Zombie Son" (with me on lead guitar, for some reason...), "Sunny Again," "Honeymoon in Polynesia," and "Lavender Splendor."

Sigh... I don't think Albatross & I even got to the fantasy setlist stage of planning. I just know there would've been plenty of... discussion... about it (as usual).

Y'all have fun out there! (Would've said "break a leg", but as my broken ankle's still on the goddamned mend, I've changed my mind on the validity of that particular phrase, heh.)

Well, whaddya know? Found the first setlist (before presenting it to Albatross for discussion) for the aborted NW portion of the SF 2009 tour, which, knowing how lazy I am, would've greatly resembled the SFRR set. So:

QotD: I don't think Live is something I'll ever be able to do considering most of my stuff is computerized and my guitar playing is random. As in, I don't know any chords I just make it up and thus can not reproduce my songs Live. But hey, here is a good Rone set in a fantasy world where I know what the heck I'm doing.

Just make a CD with backing tracks. Lots of acts have done that at past SFLives (Future Boy/High Density, The Landfills, Frontalittle, MC Poncho, probably others)

I run some tracks from the laptop when I do live shows with SF. If I was doing the SFL as myself rather than Brainpipe or Dollar Bill & the Inkpoints, I'd probably have:

Fight the Sea (HInc)
Rattle (HInc)
I'm Outstanding (Brainpipe)
Lemurs (DB&tI)
???

I might do my # cover if they didn't mind that (hey, Spud still owes me a beer!). It would be fun to do Soft Orange Glow too, if I could do the guitar thing.
I also need to try doing another DB&tI song live by myself...

I have 5 songs I can generally remember while drunk without having to rehearse them. I played them in NY.

The one about Natalie Portman, the one about getting drunk, the one about Ghengis Khan, the one about Catherine the Great and the one about the impotent cowboy.

No, I've removed the one about the impotent cowboy getting drunk with Natalie Portman, Ghengis Khan and Catherine the Great from my set. It lacked commercial potential.
