Hey, I'm going to be in Miami on a business trip in March. It lands right on my wedding anniversary (St. Patty's Day). SUCKAGE. So instead of sitting around in a hotel room lamenting, I figured I should have some fun and perhaps meet a local SF'er. But are there any local SF'ers?

That's about 200 Miles away for those who don't know.

Ugh. No SF'ers around, huh. Guess I've gotta find some other way to entertain myself in Miami.

....buy some cream and hollow out a watermelon.

Just a suggestion.

What makes someone even think of that? It gets lonesome out there on Quadra Island, don't it?

Just experience. Experience and living underneath high voltage power lines as a youth.

...I could have been referring to a pleasant dessert you know.

But I wasn't .

am also 200 miles away in orlando, but am Originally from Miami.
Never really liked it there though, is not my style.
If you got time though, may I suggest key west ?
about 2 1/2 hours drive to a nice little island… I love the keys, but if your all by yourself I guess it won’t be as fun..
Another thing, beside the obvious beach, volleyball and bikinis, is mountain biking in a nice state park called Oleta River state park.. they got like 15 miles of mountain biking trail through the woods, in north Miami.

Here’s my 2 tips, for coming down to Miami.

1) stay away from little Havan
2) bring your Spanish to English dictionary.

Not really, but that might change once my home town of Kissimmee gets their own team, later this year, I think..
But for now, am just a magic fan.
