Guitar amp for live shows

I know nothing about this: what's a good/inexpensive guitar amp suitable for live shows? The guitar sound will be coming from my Boss GT-6, so it doesn't really need to have much in the way of whistles and doodads on it. I currently only have a small dumb amp that I never use.

I always got the best results for a preprocessed guitar signal using a 4x12 cabinet and a power source of your choice...for me Marshall worked well. At least this setup allows you to have the nice ballsy low-end if you need it, but you can processify your sound how you like.
My main beef with combo amps is they are limited in terms of the amount of air they can push, unless they're outfitted with nice 12 (or bigger, I played once out of a bass cabinet...it rocked huge..) inch speakers.
Good luck in your search, i'm pretty sure none of what I've mentioned will help.
You'd better be posting when your giggin' man..I've been waiting for a BS show for a loooooooong time.

how much you want to spend? mesa makes a nice model thats about 35-50 watts maybe. about $800 i think, or maybe cheaper. also, the fender deluxe reverb is a classic that you can't go wrong with for tone. about 700-800.
get a tube amp though.

I've been wanting to get a small 1x12 amp for live shows that's nice and light, but still sounds good. I don't care about moving a bunch of air - that's what PA systems are for. Any tips in this realm?

they make 30 and 100 watt versions as well.
i have a mesa nomad 55, which has nice 3 channel footswitching capabilities, with seperate controls and gain for each channel, so you can set up a clean channel, a dirty channel, and a gained channel for solo and easily go back and forth. and you can play it without the footswitch if you want to just use something like brad's BOSS board as a DI. it can probably be had for about $800 on ebay. i think it's an awesome amp.

Jack's amp is really nice. I've played it and am envious. I have a vintage fender Princeton that is a 1x10 and super loud. I rarely get it above 3 at a show. Very light and easy to move around. Great sound.

rent a fender bassman. Then save up for one.

i second the sentiment about the bassman but he said inexpensive. they run $1200-1500 for a decent vintage one on ebay i bet, and i think the new reissue ones are over a grand. but that is a monster amp for sure.

Zoom Fire 30
30w cheap and cheerful modelling (from AC30 to Fender twin) amp with a 10" speaker. You can DI it, it has a built in tuner, and sounds great, though not a valve in sight.
Around $250 I think.
