Familiarity with the concept of an
outlier could possibly be useful somehow. Don't ask me how exactly.

What, like, in the vote counts? Either someone has a very stunning song or they have a friendflood. Either way, the raw vote counts are available.

No matter if you know what outliers are and/or treat them specially, the end result is still statistics either way. And we all know that there are lies, damn lies and statistics.
