So Eric and I have been playing Super Mario Brothers the first one, I was just wondering what everyone's old school game faves were or still are?

I am a Legend Of Zelda junkie myself so I will have to go with that. :D

the dungeons & dragons game from the intellivision was awesome.
still play that sometimes when i go to my parents' place.
snafu had great music.
my niece and nephew really like the triple action with the tanks and the airplanes, but they're not that good at playing them ;)

Whenever I hook up my old NES, the must play games are
1. Rescue: The Embassy Mission
2. Rolling Thunder
3. Godzilla

personally, i never owned any nintendo product. when i was rather young we had an atari 2600, and then several years later (mid-80's) we bought a tandy PC, (yeah i missed out on the commodore fad too), but that was pretty much it... until my baby brother came along ten years later -- he had a sega genesis, and a gameboy, and later a playstation and gameboy advance and etc. ... i never had any of these modern conveniences.

so basically -- my nintendo-playing experiences were limited to brief excursions at friends' houses. i pretty much never branched out beyond the super mario/duck hunt ... although i really really liked duck hunt a lot.

furthermore -- one time my cousin came to visit for several days and brought a NES with him, and i remember getting hooked on fester's quest, and failing miserably at attempting to understand one of the megaman games.

yeah.

You have brought on the downfall of Songfight Society! Well, I'm off to see if they have Eternal Champions.

EDIT: They don't but they have Rescue: The Embassy Mission. So it's time to go dodge some searchlights, shoot out some windows, repel off a building, then save some hostages.

hm, i thought that was the sonic the hedgehog code...?

(also: a song by the ataris)

[edit: oh, my bad. a quick websearch told me the ataris song is actually "Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left Right, B, A, Start"]

METROID!

Still my favorite video game series of all.

Mike Tyson's Punch-Out is still unbelievably fun also.

Also: not that it's a good game, but at the time, Rambo for NES was one of the most difficult games I remember beating.

ROCK!

This is very true! I can kick Phil's ass at any fighty fight game (like the tekkens) any day of the week... and I rule! :)

Might have been Sonic too. It was to get, I think, 30 guys or something on Super Contra.

The up up, down down, left right, left right, B A trick seemed to work for multiple Konami games in the NES heyday, as it works on "Gradius" also.

ROCK!
