anyone starting to get World Cup fever yet?
i think am coming down with it, need to take my temperature again (preferably not rectal this time).

i think i got it after watching The Other Final documentary the other day:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-ayTDcp ... re=related

also, i think Colombia and Armenia should play a friendly soccer match, loosing nation flips their flag upside down.
(other option was war)

Finally, a thread worthy of my comments. I'm literally wetting myself at the prospect. Group matches I'm looking forward to are Chile v Spain, Portugal v Brazil and of course, England v USA. Will be enjoyable to pull the collective american pants down in that one.

I'm interested to hear Caravan Ray's take on it all what with the socceroos and the all whites in attendance.

I believe an Australia v NZ final is a mathematical possibility.

That would be awesome.

Though generally - it is very unlikely the two teams will meet. So this will be one of the very, very, very rare occasions that it may actually be socially acceptable to barrack for New Zealand. Especicially when they play Itay - those dirty garlic-eating bastards who the cheating bloody ref gave a penalty to in the final seconds of the game in 2006. I hope the sheep-shaggers give them a good boot up the date for their nancy-boy diving shenenigans.

BTW - "All Whites" is the stupidest team name ever (though they may find themselves getting a few extra fans in the more "Boer" parts of South Africa). Even slightly more stupid that "Socceroos".

Australian soccer is on a roll at the moment though. The Matildas beat North Korea to win the Women's Asian Cup last week (I like "Matildas" - that's a good name)

and a red card .....

USA v England tonight.

Im torn..... I hate both teams equally.

Holland Spain final ... I think that would be the ideal... with a dutch win, its about time

A draw would be as good as a win.

Has that Pommie goalkeeper been publicly executed yet? WTF was that all about?!? Have they got Phil Tufnell coaching them on how to pick a ball up?

Apparently during the half time break, when they threw him an orange, he dropped that too.

However the press here is trying its damnedest to not blame the keeper, knowing that Fabio is gonna have to play him next time (mostly because Davis James is still crook and the 3rd keeper is a thalidomide) and they really dont want to destroy his confidence.

Tho personally, I have no idea how he could ever live such a stupid and childish error down. I thought it was hillarious. Keep it up I say. Home before the 2nd round starts. Excellent.

Good luck tonight tho, it would be great to see you beat the sausage munchers.

You diss the cricket team of England and Wales, but I ask you, who is currently in possesion of the little urn........ oh yeh .... thats right. I accept your apology. hehehe

Got up at 4:30 am to watch Australia play those sausage eating bastards.

Should have stayed in bed really.....

The Ashes are so last century. The Proteas are the new England - Aus. vs. S.A are the only matches that matter now....when did Wales get a cricket team!?!?!

I don't understand soccer at all - but that send off seemed completely baffling.

I think our problem is that our soccer team is full of soccer players - who are by default a pack of purse-carrying nancys. We should have sent our Rugby League team over to play - with a few Wallabies thrown in for good measure - maybe even an Aussie Rules player or two - captained by Warney and coached by Merv Hughes. Blokes with a bit of ticker who are not afraid to give it a red-hot go and turn on the biff if necessary. I mean, the game is just kicking a ball around. How hard can that be?

Anyway, we are still 2-1 up on the Germans when you take World Wars into the equation.

BTW: Saturday night in Perth - Wallabies 27 d. England 17

Looks like those cheating Italian bastards are up to their old tricks again - just like they did to Australia 4 years ago:

When NZ play them they should give the All Whites the day off and send the All Blacks on instead. The Italians wouldn't need to fake their dives then

I was soooo pissed watching that game CRay! I thought Australia had a great tournament in 2006. It was very sad watching them go down that way.

Edit: Oops... I thought you linked the Italy vs. Australia game from 2006. That was the shite I was talking about.

Serbia beat Germany.

Would it be too much to ask that France, Germany, England and Italy all get knocked out in the first round? That would be so sweet.

Australia Vs Ghana

WTF?!?!?!?

I am flabergasted
I am gobsmacked

Ghana were dead-set hopeless jokes. Is it any surprise that that cock-sucking referee was another one of those cheating bastard Italians!!?!

Apparently we now have to beat Serbia by about 37 to carry on. Let's go - it's on.

In the meantime....for tonight's game - GO NU ZILAND!!!! - kick those Italian bastards for us.

New Zealand v Italy game was awesome! Go you Kiwis!! (never thought I'd say that), and get that up ya you cheating Italian bastards.

It was the perfect result. The Ities are spewing because they didn't win. The best bit was that the goal NZ scored should have been called off-side. That will really piss the spaghetti-munchers off. But still, NZ didn't actually win - which would have made them (even more) insufferable.
