That's impressive... how many stars (-lets) have that kind of self-confidence and ...well, balls. Good for her for showing the world she has perspective.

It was also nice of her agent to play along. At least, I hope he knew what he was heading into beforehand!

Yeah, that's pretty cool. Although it's not really her fault the movie was so awful.

well, she did get worst actress, evidently.
never saw the movie, though.
it is cool she'd come and accept the reward. neat.

Well, I'm not that impressed (by the impression the article gives - not seen the actual footage) - it comes across as 'hey, yes the film was shit, it's everyone else's fault'. Blaming the agent for not reading the script?? Errrr, can Ms Berry not read? Slagging off the film, while not returning the millions of dollars she took for the role?
Hmmmm, yes it's very easy to laugh at yourself when in reality you're laughing at other people.
And Monsters Ball was crap. And her acting in it, while perfectly acceptable, was not deserving of an Oscar. imo.

er, i thought those were jokes.
in reality it's her own damn fault, but if you can't laugh...

well, i love you johnny (in a manly, hetero sort of way...hehe) but i COMPLETELY disagree with you. monsters ball was a very powerful movie that she definitely deserved to win for.
it's probably easier to laugh at yourself and not take your career so seriously after you've already won a best actress oscar. she probably feels she has nothing to prove to anyone anymore.

Yeah, like I think fluffy said, I just hope her agent knew what she was going to do ....
As for Monsters Ball, well, hey, it didn't have enough spaceships or gay sex in it for me to appreciate it. If it had gay sex on spaceships I would have of course insisted in won every oscar for the rest of time

Well, it is in my top 5 favourite films of all time, so maybe, yes

Yes, it's hard to gauge comedy based on text alone. Just as it's hard to understand the mood someone is trying to convey on the internet via text. Her speech was very comical as she 'thanked' all the important people who helped her receive such an award. She hammed it up as anyone who was accepting an award would...complete with the 'thank yous' and the whole 9 yards. Of course, since it was a razzie award... it makes the whole thing ridiculous. *SMILEY*
