For those who want rehearsal in some semblance of style, my next door neighbor has given me an enthusiastic thumbs-up on the use of our roof. :D

I don't know if there's power there but I'm sure we can run an extension cord from the hallway.

There's also the Berkeley Social Scene rehearsal space, across the Bay in Oakland. We've got drums, amps, mics, and a PA. There isn't a bathroom but there are a bar and a restaurant nearby with friendly proprietors.

Other options in SF would be Lennon Studios or Secret Studios, where you can rent a room by the hour.
