Here is
the show's channel. I'll be streaming the party tonight, and trying to stream the show itself as well.

Thanks, everyone who came! It was a blast. I'm sure my downstairs neighbors LOVE me right now. I should have remembered to ask people to take their shoes off. Oops. Anyway, I guess I'm going to be eating sausage and burgers for the next month or so. Plenty of beer and soda left, too.
Sorry about the lack of sound on the stream for the 16 of you(!) who watched. uStream and/or Linux audio hates me.

Yeah, thanks for hosting fluffy. The show is at 7 tonight but I imagine the stream setup will happen before that so we have time to work out the kinks before the show starts. Of course, this is all assuming they have wifi at the Abbey...

OK, I'll tune in a bit before 7. Thanks. I sure hope they have wifi.

If there's 3G coverage we can just use my phone as the uplink too. But that's another big if, obviously.
Meanwhile, I'm looking to see if there's a native OSX UStream client because I've had nothing but rotten luck with the Flash-based one, and I also want to make sure I have a local copy in case of network outage. UStream themselves make "UStream Capture Pro" but that's $200...
I do have an app called BoinxTV which can supposedly act as an intermediary to UStream for recording and preprocessing and so on, but it still has to go through UStream's flash app through another app (CamTwist) that I've also had rotten luck with.
LIFE IS HARD

The problem I have with ustream is actually that it loses track of my audio interface.
Meanwhile, there IS a free version of ustream producer, so maybe that'll work for us.

edit: Ok, yeah, it's the same link. I'm watching you guys as I type. It's voodoo.

Well, I think I fell asleep about the time we lost signal on JBB's set, but... many cheers for fluffy for making this happen, letting us attend virtually from other places! It's pretty impressive that this can happen at all!
Not to complain or anything, but the one complaint I'd have from last night is that we pretty much couldn't hear/understand the vocals on anything... if you could set up even just a cheap computer mic and aim it at one of the PA speakers, that would help a lot, I think.
And not to judge or anything, but I was very impressed with Jon Eric's set. Stuff actually had rhythm and a beat and didn't speed up and slow down constantly...

Yeah thanks for setting up the uStream fluffy! It was fun watching even though I couldn't be there.

I third that. I enjoyed drinking beer and watching the show. The chat company was fun too, lol. I wouldn't expect the sound quality to be much better, but it was good enough to get into it.
Also, if I said anything in chat to offend anyone, consider this my official apology.
And Irwin, I wasn't hitting on your lady. But I have to be honest, she WAS making cookies.....just sayin'.

Another reason to haight it: the recording stopped after 2 hours, so we get to see about an hour of setup, and then the show through the first half of Jon Eric's set. Hopefully with all the other video recording going on there'll be better-quality video of parts of the night anyway.

well, at least somebody caught it right away and it was back up in a few minutes. And we got to see most of the show, so, again... thanks!

Hey, at least it waited until I was finished with my second song.

And the audio distortion on the loud parts wasn't nearly as bad as it was last year. On my songs which featured a drummer, you can still hear the song.
Thanks for tuning in, everyone. I can't wait to see the higher-quality video.

In this case it's because I was using UStream Producer instead of the web interface, and it seems to handle network errors MUCH better (which is good because I was using my cellphone as an access point).
