I seem to have become a songfighter

Hiya, I'm Josh Millard. Musician and misc. nerd in Portland, Oregon, one of the folks who runs Metafilter (I'm "cortex") over there. Long time vague enthusiast about the idea of Song Fight, but I haven't looked at the site itself closely since probably 2002 or so, when I wasn't really all that confident about quick-turn music production and so didn't quite dare jump in. I got a chance to chat with Frontalot a few months ago and he reminded me that it existed, and I've been failing to write enough music lately and so, well, hey: this will have seemed like a good idea at the time.
Jammed my entry for the next challenge in with about five minutes to spare after a frantic morning of writing and recording, looking forward to seeing what everybody else came up with, really enjoying the previous round but haven't quite finished listening to everything yet.
31, grew up in a fairly musical family and been writing music for half my life, enjoy stuntishly aggressive schedules (have done the RPM Challenge album-in-a-month thing a couple times over the years and enjoyed it immensely), and I once recorded a sorta-barbershop song about Isaac Hayes leaving South Park for religious reasons.
Also, as a child my billionaire parents were brutally shot to death in a dark alley after a movie by a scared thug with the implausible name of "Welcome to Songfight", who fled into the darkness thereafter shouting the words "please be awesome." I never found him.
