Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right, here I am, stuck in this title fight with you.
.....now this is a title I can sink my teeth in to.

As always I have a few ideas for what a song could be about but no actual song ideas:
- hairstyles
- the creme inside an Oreo
- a song composed of nothing but bridge sections

That was my first thought, although I do enjoy being obscure.
Great minds, etc.

Hairstyle thing is grossly tempting to me. Maybe a history of bad childhood barber experiences there.
I'm not sure it's for me, but someone could go Lucasian with e.g. "The Middle Part (In A Tauntaun Sandwich)".
Or: intentionally misread the theme and craft an allegorical nine-minute-long prog-rock opus about a young girl getting lost in the woods and finding a cabin in which one drummer is too big, another is too small, and the middle Peart is juuuuust riiiiight.

the idiot kings may be in. i'm spending a week at a rented beach house, and i'm doing a bit of writing and recording anyway. here's my view as i type this:
so as long as i can stay off of the beach long enough to get some good ideas and flesh them out, i may be in.

It would appear that I will be channeling Hank Williams (the original one) this fight. Anybody out there willing to contribute some fiddle or steel guitar parts in the style?

Or there's always something about how the second act of a three-act story is always the dire portion. I had some lyrical ideas along these lines this morning but of course I forgot to write them down. Something like, "Everything was going great, it all seems so perverse / Now it's all falling apart, resolution in reverse"

This is how mine is structure, just by the nature of its subject matter. Everything was going so well. Until it didn't.

It's been something like 4 years since I tried songfight. My new band is all moving into a house together this week and to get the creative juices flowing we're considering taking part in this fight. Guess I'm saying, The Bachelor Police may be making an appearance bringing some sub-par-college-garage-rock-blues with us.

I wrote a rap in under an hour. It's not very polished, but I'm strangely satisfied by the result.
At first I was going to write a song in which "I looked at the top part... then I looked at the bottom part... then I looked at the middle part." That didn't end up working as well as I'd hoped it would.

I've got a chorus melody and chord structure, about half a stanza of chorus lyrics, and a vague handwavey sense of a verse construction so far. Feeling good about putting more of it together tomorrow. I think I've got a decent chance of having worked out an idea no one else will pick (if only through slightly aggressive verbal gymnastics), though I'll go so far as to say 14:21 for the numerologically scoobyish.
And hey, LSK!

So, I had a decent song written out, music ready to go for said song, and all I needed to do was record. Only problem was this song would have required I sing. . .And I feel my songs have tortured you people enough that making your ears bleed is just going too far. So, I wrote another rap, made music for it, and recorded it. The only problem with this one is that my late '90s mic is starting to crap out on me. Any way I hope y'all like it.

Got something written and recorded, just need to mix down. To distract attention from the synth fiddle parts, I'm mixing the drums left and the acoustic guitar right. I "inherited" an old EV664 mic this past week and used it for the vocals - kind of lacking in bottom end and maybe a little scratchy, but I haven't used one of these in years and years...

Sounds like you're wading into Octothorpe's waters here, matey. Careful; here there be pirates.

Hey, wow, the first verse of my song is about my first girlfriend, too
