I only watched 2 episodes. Pretty good prize money, $250k.

You don't like Gabriel Iglesias, or the facebook thing?
He's funny as heck, good sir!

His only two jokes are "lol yes I'm fat" and "lol skinny people aren't having any fun because obviously they don't know how to enjoy life because the only way to enjoy life is to chronically over-eat and get fat."

Guess who won Last Comic Standing tonight?
For what it's worth, I never heard of Gabriel before you posted that video of him talking about Felipe on Facebook.
I had voted several times for Felipe following every episode of the show (cell phone, house phone, e-mail, etc.) so believe it or not, there were some legitimate votes there.

Oh, I'm sure there were some legitimate votes, but Gabriel Iglesias has literally a million fans on Facebook, and he posted "Go vote for my friend Felipe on Last Comic Standing," so it's not a huge leap to figure out how that math worked out.
And to all the Igelsias-haters, what gives?

Okay, that was a little bit funny. But he sure knows how to stretch a single joke out into a whole routine.

He came to my college while I was there. On stage, he did about an hour of stand-up, then just started riffing about the school, did an impression of our Chief of Security, and took questions from the audience. Finally, he launched back into his standup bit and ended with what would later become the ending bit to his "Hot and Fluffy" special. The whole performance was about three and a half hours, and me and my friends were, by turns, in stitches and mesmerized the whole time. I happen to think that he's just a genuinely funny guy. Even when he's just talking off the cuff.
Felipe, on the other hand, is kind of hit-and-miss. When he's on, I love him, but a lot of my initial attraction to him on Last Comic Standing was because of the whole "Hey! That's the guy that Gabriel Iglesias talks about in his bit! Wow!" I know he did get some real fans through the show, but I doubt he would have won (or even cracked the top 5) without Iglesias' help.
'Course, I'm just spouting off nonsense, because there's no way to prove any of this. I'm just sayin'.

i think gabriel's funny, but the voice thing is about a one time only thing... just starts getting under my skin after about 20 minutes
and i liked felipe, but i didn't vote for him... i thought he had the weakest performances of the last couple episodes

Oh man, I just saw this:
On September 25, 2010, Greg Giraldo overdosed on prescription medication. After he failed to appear for a scheduled performance, he was found in his New Jersey hotel room and rushed to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. He died as a result of complications from the overdose four days later on September 29, with his family by his side

Yessir, he died yesterday, and the world's a little darker because of it. He always seemed so nice, even when he was trading barbs with other comics. Such a shame.

Yeah, I saw this as well. Such a shame. He was the best on the last roast. He's been looking a little out of it of late. But very quick with the wit.

He was one of my favorites on Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn too. It's really sad to see him go so young.
