Personality tests and actual interactive tests to determine how musical you are. Takes about 25 minutes. Some of the questions are maddeningly badly-phrased, though. It would be nice if the "agree/disagree" ones were all along the same axis, but they switch it up a lot and end up with double or even triple negatives at points.
As a note, while they force you to register it's one of those things where they don't actually verify your email address. Unfortunately you can only take it once per BBC ID, so bugmenot isn't an option.
My personality test results (which are pretty subjective and easy to make say whatever you want):
Enthusiasm: 96%
Perception: 99%
Emotional connection: 100%
Social creativity: 98%
Musical curiosity: 96%
My test scores:
"Group the music": It didn't give a numerical score, but it looks like I didn't do so good. But the samples were all like one note long.
Match the beat: 16/18
Tap to the beat: High accuracy on 6/9, medium accuracy on 3/9
Melody memory: 11/12. The one I got wrong was where I said 'different' for ones that were the same but that's one of those cases where absolute pitch perception makes things problematic. I swear, absolute pitch is like being a supertaster: it sounds like a super power but all it does is make it harder to appreciate cilantro.

I don't appreciate "cilantro". It is called coriander.

Wow, that was special...
Enthusiasm for music: 28%
Musical perception: 83%
Emotional connection: 5%
Social creativity: 90%
Musical Curiosity: 19%
This kind of thing always happens to me when I take tests about anything.
Group the music: I got three out of four in three out of four categories. That's, uh, not so good, right?
Match the beat: 17/18
Tap to the beat: 6/9 high, 2/9 medium, 1/9 low (I think that was the one where I accidentally tapped on 2 and 4 at first...)
Melody memory: 11/12 (I only got the first one wrong, when I still suspected they might have been making the differences very subtle, like keeping things in the same key or just swapping two notes...)

Eh, it's better than I did. I'm not sure how that test was supposed to show anything about genre identification.jast wrote:Group the music: I got three out of four in three out of four categories. That's, uh, not so good, right?
