Unfortunately Gmail issues

Unfortunately, suspicious activity has caused Google to lock one of my gmail accounts. Fortunately, I only use it to monitor newsletter subscriptions, notifications, etc. But unfortunately, it's based on my full name and so I would like it back. Fortunately, they have a reclaim service online. Unfortunately, I am not able to satisfy their curiosity about whether I am the person who set the account up. Fortunately, I am on medicine that helps me stay calm in situations like this. Unfortunately, I sense a burning rage deep within about all this. Fortunately, some stranger hasn't stolen my account and threatened my identity. Unfortunately, Google has done this instead.
Has anyone else experienced this unfortunate sort of event? I would feel fortunate to hear.

Fortunately, I have not had any unfortunate issues with gmail.
Good luck in you pursuit for email happiness, fine sir. Hopefully sooner than later.

About a year ago, I e-mailed myspace so I could have them delete an account that I set up while I was in high school (2002-ish). I remembered the login ID but not the password. Couldn't retrieve the password because the account was linked to an e-mail address that did not exist anymore. I registered it under Jon Eric, which isn't my verifiable real name, so I couldn't prove to them via background check or anything like that.
The resolution was that they asked me for a series of photos with very specific instructions. The first one they requested was of myself, in front of my computer screen with the profile loaded up, while holding up a card with my current e-mail address written on it in blue ink. After I sent that one, they asked for another one with the card in black ink, and with me holding up three fingers on my other hand.
It felt kind of ridiculous, but they did eventually delete the profile.

So if I know someone's log in and the email they probably used with it, I could get someone's site shut down? (NOT that I would, I just think it's kind of funny)
My old band had the same problem. We had it set up to an email that was associated with our domain. I removed the hosting on the domain after we split up. A year later the Myspace updating member couldn't get into myspace because he forgot the password and the password retrieval was associated with that now defunct email. He had do many of the same things you did in order to get the password again. Including pictures of him holding the email address up while the page was loaded. They let him in I think.

Sounds like a great April Fool's joke. Unfortunately, I don't think it would work, because the reason they wanted a photo of me in front of the profile I wanted deleted was so that they could verify that I was, in fact, the person pictured in the profile.
