How about a place where we put the pertinent information about where, when, what, etc., maybe without a whole ton of discussion, so there is somewhere people can go to quickly get some details?

So whatever happened to the songfight wiki?

I was thinking a wiki page would be better, but it seems like the boards are really still the "go to" place for a lot of people when they want to figure out what's going on. The wiki attempts don't seem to have gained traction in the collective consciousness for whatever reason. It would be interesting to explore why that is the case, but maybe in another thread...

I've tried to go through all the relevant posts and figure out the list of attendees to include in the first post of this thread, as well. If you are on there but shouldn't be, or you aren't on there but should be, or your are a "maybe", let me know.

I'll be bringing my acoustic electric guitar that anyone can use if they deem necessary... It's not great, but it plugs in and has a tuner on it... Sooooo, it'll be there if you need it.

I will have an acoustic/electric with me as well. I might also be traveling with a keyboard; not sure if I'm bringing that on tour yet.

My yellow Xaviere Tele and my Lowden acoustic will be available. You have to wear purple to play the Xaviere, though.

Anybody bringing a bass guitar, preferably an electric one? And a bass amp?
I know we'll have a PA at Sidewalk. Niv, will there be one at Spaceonwhite as well? If you've answered that question already of the boards somewhere, my apologies.
Jim Tyrrell -may- bring a keyboard. Anybody else thinking of bringing a keyboard? And/or a keyboard amp? Worst case we can run it through the PA I suppose.
If you're planning to bring an iPod/iPad/iPhone, laptop, CD player, etc. to use during your set, you should probably bring a headphone-to-RCA cable or adapter, in order to run your device into the PAs. This seems to be a component that gets forgotten a lot of the time.

I was actually planning on using a headphone-to-dual-phono cable for my blippy accouterments, which works even better.

Cool, thanks fluffy!
EDIT: Wait, "dual-phono"? Do you mean dual-1/4"? I'm not sure what "phono" means in this context. To me that sounds like it would actually be RCA, not 1/4". Either RCA or 1/4" is good. Just curious which it is.

1/4". Which used to be called phono plugs, once upon a time. I'm just old-fashioned. (Although I guess "phono" also means RCA according to Wikipedia. So I guess I need to stop calling them "phono." Old habits...)
Oh, so, is there any need for a violin? And if so, should I bring my acoustic or my electric? The acoustic sounds somewhat better but the electric is of course much easier to deal with for amplification purposes.

Personally I see a violin as more of a "nice to have" than a "need to have" like drums/bass/guitar/PA, but that's just my two cents. Definitely bring one along if you like.
So, bass anybody?

If nobody local has one then I could bring my Samick fretless. It's not very good, though.

I only have an acoustic bass which I can bring (especially for Governors Island). As for a PA, SpaceonWhite does not have one.
I think we need to make a list of things we need for the show.

Oh boy... How is this for a start?
We need some kind of bass at least for Sunday night, preferably an electric, with an amp.
If people really need drums for Saturday night for some reason (which seems dubious to me, frankly) then we need drums.
We probably need a PA for Saturday night, especially if people are playing drums. (If no drums, we might be able to get away without one, frankly.)
If we have a PA, we need at least a mic with a stand and mic cable for main vocals, and a 1/4" cable for acoustic-electric guitar, for Saturday night. We might want a second vocal mic with another stand and mic cable.
If anybody is expecting to play electric guitar we need at least one electric guitar amp.
A keyboard would be really great, with a keyboard stand and a cable, and maybe even a sustain pedal.
Probably a music stand or two would be very useful but not really required.
Other ideas?
Also, who is going to set up the PA and drums for Saturday night if we have those, and who is going to run sound?

Oh, yeah, I was going to bring my Oxygen8 and SIDstation. I'd rather not bring both that AND my electric bass though (I mean this is getting into lots of luggage here...), so I'd really prefer for someone else to bring a bass.
If someone else is bringing a keyboard with MIDI output then I can leave the Oxygen8 at home, at least.
Wow, it's getting pretty close to showtime. I had better start putting together charts and sheet music.

I have an OK bass, and an Oxygen8, so lighten up on the luggage, Fluffy!

I have a bass, acoustic and electric guitars, an Oxygen8 keyboard, and potential a Casio Privia PX-310 keyboard. Also a 12 channel mixing board. But i have no amps. If someone has a van that would help.

Works for me! I'll just bring my violin and Fred.

There is a small chance. Someone remind me of the name (__________&___________) - and has anyone generated an image (poster-like) for this show?

There's an art space in Brooklyn and the Brooklyn Brewery and another place I'm waiting for responses from for the Sunday eve venue.
