FMs, please consolidate my two entries:
http://www.songfight.org/artistpage.php ... istics_inc
http://www.songfight.org/artistpage.php ... stics_inc.
into one (the one with the period). Don't know how I lost it for "TFC".
Thanks!

Also can we please combine the various dollar bill & the inkpoints entries under one roof?

<b>DONE</b>

And could we list Yoko Oh No (from the Let it Be fight) under Johnny in the Corner too?

<b>NOT SURE WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR HERE
a name change?
a see also listing?
something else?
</b>

When you're next doing it that is ...

awesome great. works for me. just another note, if you put in a nonsense name, e.g.:
http://www.songfight.org/artistpage.php ... ahshooooop
it gives you a name "& and the angle brackets" with no songs, when it should probably return a "band name not found" instead. not that important, probably, just mentioning it.
thanks!

Sorry I didn't make that clear. 'Yoko Oh No' is the band name we came up witj before Johnny in the Corner. It's the same creative process so I was hoping to get a name-change. Buit if that messes up the archive, or is a lot of hassle (which I can see it might be) then ignore me. That's fine :)

Dunno if this is the right place for this, but could I please have my entry for "Cheer Up Shelley" listed and archived as Caravan Ray, and not John, Penny & Harriet.

I've emailed this request to fightmaster as well - so if that message was recieved - please disregard this one. I'm not trying to hassle anyone - just don't know if my message has gone to the right place.
Thanks

If it's not too much trouble, would you take all the leaf 62 stuff (leaf & dana, leaf and bonafide etc... and the TJ's Chillum song,) and put them under leaf 62 ... although I'm tempted to drop the 62 due to it's cheesy punkpop crap association.. I shall not as it is a number of ....honour. merci.

When you get a chance, consolidate the following under "The John Benjamin Band":

John Benjamin
John Benjamin Band
The John Benjamin Band
The Jon Benjamin Band

Hey,

It would be great if you could put the "niveous & johnny" song under "transatlantic fight club". And could you also consolidate all the Suave Noise Youth songs (suave, noise, and youth)?

Could you please put all songs by "Frankie Big Face", "ADD", "sonofsupercar" and "State Shirt" under the name of "Glenn Case"?

Yeah... I didn't think so either, but figured it wouldn't hurt to ask. :P

ROCK!

OK, but, you know, Gleen was on to something there. This is getting kinda tiring. Can't people just pick a name?

(btw, this doesn't mean don't submit corrections for past indiscretions, just trying to get people to pre-consolidate in the future)

I don't think there's anything wrong with saying that mistakes in spelling/capitalization/ambiguous "The" usage/punctuation will be corrected, but that errors in judgement (leading to 5 bajillion band names) will stand. Isn't that what the "See Also" part of the artist listing is for?

Well, no offence to anyone intended, but a) it's hardly a torrent, is it? and b) one only has to say 'no', or ignore the post. I haven't seen Niveous chasing you down in the three months since he posted it, for example . Oh, and c) miscatagorization doesn't always equal error of judgement neccessarily ...

Choosing 5 different band names and then having them show up in the archive in five different places is not miscategorization, that is accurate categorization.

I'm sorry that I asked. Yikes.

If it was such a hassle, why have a thread devoted to it?

There's a "Jonathan Benjamin Band" entry, too. :)

Well, first of all, I didn't start the thread (but I don't really mind it being here).

Just so you know, I don't mind fixing errors, and sometimes it isn't your fault. Jr. seems to always capitalize "Fluffy" for instance, and it shows up as a separate entry from "fluffy". Whadya gonna do?

I am just trying to keep people from making up silly band names for the purpose of the fight, and then consolidating it into their archive later without considering that someone has to deal with it.

It isn't THAT much trouble, but it is SOME. Currently, there is no interface. I have to download the archive database, search for the entry offending entry, edit it, and then upload the database back to the server. There is always a chance of error when doing this manual work, and I have been know to fuxor the database from time to time, which makes more work for me fixing THAT.

Again, I don't mind the ones from the past, cuz I knew this was going to happen when I created this beast in the first place. Just try to be cool in the future, to whatever extent you think is reasonable.

Hey Spud,

The whole archive thing has been awesome and you don't get enough thanks for the great work you've done. The whole Suave/Noise/Youth thing was a goof and we didn't think of the future ramifications (the archive wasn't even a blip on our radar). So hey, leave that. Let it be a sign to future bands to not screw around with the band names.

The Niveous & Johnny one is the only one I really care about. I don't know how that song ended up listed that way instead of Transatlantic Fight Club. And as the best of the 3 collabs, I would really like it to have the right band name.

Thanks.

Niveous - sorry if it seemed I was calling you out or something, I didn't intend to. I had already done all your requests before I even posted. It was really gleen's thing that I was responding to more than anything, with like, yeah, just be reasonable about it.

Go in peace, my son. No harm done.
