what have i done

just put in a blank rewriteable cd was gonna record some music. no kind of player or questions came up after inserting the blank cd. It used to , what have i done?

Do you mean "record" some music or burn some music. Recording would be in your DAW program.
I'm going to take a wild guess and think you are trying to burn music. In windows 7, just go to the song you want to burn and at the top click "burn to disc" It will open windows media player/library. It'll have that song ready to burn on the right and ask if you want to add more. Then click burn at the top.
