Breaking Bad

Television. I believe that most of it is crap, and the good shows out there often scare me off because I don't want to get hooked and chained to the tele. But five years ago, when watching Mad Men, which I accidently got hooked on, I saw the promo for the new show Breaking Bad. I gave it a shot and it was fantastic. I watched the first two seasons and then moved to an apartment where I didn't have cable. Missed the show, but not TV. Sure, I eventually got streaming Netflix, but didn't want to get obsessed with a marathon binge of watching Breaking Bad. Until about 10 days ago when my girlfriend, who had never seen it, and I, watched EVERY EPISODE! Wow!

So, as many may know, the final episodes have begun to air and it's off to the end. Does anyone else here watch this great show? Thoughts? Ideas?

Yup. I thought the first episode of this last half of the season (from Sunday) was just about the most awesomely well-crafted hour of television ever. I mean, the Star Trek script by itself would have been enough, but all the other little details were incredible.

Yeah, the Trek bit was inspired. I truly can not guess as to the outcome of this show. Walt could be killed by any number of people, including himself, in any number of ways. Or succumb to cancer. Or nothing. He could end up teaching again. If anyone knows, don't say.

I'm a late fan, but yes, AWESOME! I started at the first episode and I'm now up to date for the new episodes. Bryan Cranston is great. It didn't take me long to forget about him as Malcolm's goofy dad.

Can't wait for tonight. Perhaps this week they'll actually give Aaron Paul some lines to read!

Bryan Cranston is cast to play Lex Luthor. That should be interesting. http://blog.zap2it.com/pop2it/2013/08/b ... eport.html

Who's gonna go first? Everyone is out to get everyone, kind of. The Matt Damon guy is talking too much, he's stupid and loose. Todd. That's who I meant. And I'd say that Jesse spoke quite a bit, right Jon?

He sure did. The minute he bumped into Huell, I knew where they were going with that, and it was terrifying.

Also, my wife and I have been calling Todd "Meth Damon" ever since he was introduced last year. Pretty long odds on his making it out of all this alive.

Yeah, I laughed when I saw the Meth Damon comment. I said the same thing.

Yeah, this is one of the most unpredictable TV shows I've ever seen, ever. For instance, Walt's videotape last night. I don't know anyone who saw that coming. So yeah, maybe Todd might live....... But I'm not taking that bet.

Agreed on Todd and unpredictability. Now. What about Walt Jr.? I think things could get bleak for him, and although unpredictable, he has to be involved somehow. Nice how Walt 'played'. him last night, eh? Dad of the year.

This show is definitely in the top of my all time faves list.

Crazy is the only word I can think of. This show is so intoxicating.

Spoiler alert:
Do you think Walt said those things to Skylar because he knew the police were listening and wants to clear her from being an accomplice? I'm pretty sure that was his plan.

Undoubtedly. I can't see any other way to interpret it.

I agree, Walt did that as you said. Is Jesses going to allow Walt to meet a similar fate as Jayne did? My latest (ever changing) guess.

I think I watched the first 2 episodes.

I didn't get it

If you only watched 2 episodes, you are missing out on the build of the series. Watching the chain of events of the protagonist becoming the antagonist is very surreal.

Also, as I've said before, if you, "CR" don't like something, that means it's really good. For example, just this year, Breaking Bad made it into the Guinness World Records as the highest rated show in history. So..... :D

By the way, I read that a spin off is already in the making called "Better Call Saul", lol. It's a prequel to breaking bad before Saul ever met Walter White, when he was a strip mall attorney looking for any ambulance to chaise. It's said to be a comedy. It will be another Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould show, so even as bad as the concept sounds to me, I keep telling myself that Gilligan gave us X-files and Breaking Bad, this HAS to be better than it sounds, lol.

The way the last episode ended, his ever growing hatred towards Walt will now be his obsession and revenge will be his only reason to live. Spoiler: Plus now that he's Meth Damon's meth making slave, their bond will grow. He saved Jesse from death and Jesse is teaching Meth Damon how to make the perfect product. Jesse is smart and will turn the tables on Walt. That's my guess.

That seems pretty unlikely; it's because of Todd that Jesse wanted to get out of the meth business in the first place (since Todd's the one who killed the kid on the bicycle, and that's what triggered his big meltdown).
