Art Bomb
Caravan Ray

At the break of the dawning of the morning in centre of the city he shuffles along
Black backpack and hoodie pulled up right up on his head he goes to work quietly humming a song
He moves suspiciously, deliberate and judiciously
A man on a mission, his volition has conditioned him to carry out his task, he knows he's doing no wrong

He plants an art bomb at the side of the road
He plants an art bomb at the side of the road
He plants an art bomb at the side of the road
He plants an art bomb
It's gonna explode.

A one man insurgency convinced of dire urgency to fight all his oppressors and set his people free
A improvised device designed to shock the ruling class and give the world a taste of his personal philosophy

He plants an art bomb at the side of the road
He plants an art bomb at the side of the road
He plants an art bomb at the side of the road
He plants an art bomb
It's gonna explode.

Later in the morning and the streets have come alive
a surging mass of humanity starting their 9 to 5
in an unremarkable trash can something was hid inside
going tick tick tick tick
then
ten thousand people smiled

It was an art bomb filled with beauty and light
It was an art bomb, a spectacular sight
It was an art bomb filled with passion and love
Spreading happiness around just like a bolt from above

We are at war
No time for hesitation
Call out the troops
Begin the operation
Jam all the lines
Disrupt communications
Break down the walls
And occupy, occupy the nation

Take down the signs
And post your own directions
Burn all the maps
And obfuscate connections
Steal all the words
And give them new inflections
Turn every thought
Toward the in, toward the insurrection

We've got an art bomb
We're gonna blow your mind
We'll derail your train of consciousness

We will destroy your preconceptions
With unexpected weapons
Weapons of mass deconstruction
We will undermine your preferences
Explode your frame of reference
With weapons of mass deconstruction

We've got an art bomb
We're gonna blow your mind
We'll derail your train of consciousness

This is the day that I was born
The day I died
The day I took this fleshy form
The day I cried
These are my mother's tears, these are my father's trembling arms
These are the shaky words, his promise that we won't be harmed
But then the bombardiers took aim and let it down
And we've all cursed it since it came
The Art Bomb

This was the paint refinery
All blue and red
This was the poets' colony
now spent and said
These were the multitudes
These were the innocents of heart
Or if not innocent, at least beneficent in art
And there my mother held me close
and still and calm
And here it fell to meet its host
The Art Bomb

And we're all born of flame
And we've all blessed its name
And we've all cursed it since it came
The Art Bomb

Nothing ever goes as it's supposed to
Nothing ever does quite as it should do
Old or new

Roses are red but violets aren't blue
Shaded and dark but purple in hue
In the morning dew

Coloring outside of the lines
Nothing ever turns out just as it's designed.
or defined

Spilling the paint and watching it run
Throwing the brush out of frustration
It just can't be done

Kicking over the easel
Smashing the guitar
Snapping all the pencils
Bombing all the art

Running out of diesel
Heading for the bar
Leaving behind the stencils
Forgetting who you are

Art Bomb by Niveous

From the shoulders of giants
We watched the city fall
Burned asunder by its own flaws
And an art bomb
Tomorrow knows no secrets
And listens to no prayers
We Won't miss it all
When it's no longer there

This is the renaissance
This is the apocalypse
It takes an act of chaos
To make a state of bliss

Melting clocks and waterlilies
Drowning the streets in paint
We drink to all the lost lives
Though none of them were saints
With no future to ponder
Today is full of grace
We watch the buildings fall
Beauty born in the wake

This is the renaissance
This is the apocalypse
It takes an act of chaos
To make a state of bliss

Ticking away – I lay awake
Fade away every day
Gave it all held nothing back
So damn hard that way

chorus
(He)art Bomb – explode in my heart again
(He)art Bomb – she blow me away; pulled my pin and ran away

wake up alone – I'm all alone
Keep it in all the time
I've never been wrong travelin on
its all I'm saying

chorus

bridge
though i've stopped my heart from ruin
and do my paces
read my mind – more and more
here i'm out of places.

She opened wide and let me in
baby youre late with him
one and done – I'm totally wrong
the way I'm feeling.

You look so tight, but I play it Tolouse
I'm no engineer but I like your caboose
You're like a cubist painting in all the right ways
You're a burst of color on a canvas of grays

Chorus:
You're an Art Bomb, baby
In broad strokes, no one can be finer
Art Bomb, baby
You make me wanna paint the walls with my primer

Art Bomb, baby
You're sculpted like a beautiful face
Art Bomb, baby
I hope I get to second base

You're a true Gaudi, a marvel of engineering
You drive me crazy, and you're not even steering
You're a man-made wonder, a permanent structure
I tell myself every night that "I just wanna...."

You're an Art Bomb, baby
In broad strokes, no one can be finer
Art Bomb, baby
You make me wanna paint the walls with my primer

Art Bomb, baby
You're sculpted like a beautiful Face
Art Bomb, baby
I hope I get to second base

You're a Renaissance, and I'm going Medieval
I'm gonna keep on squirting till I fill up your easel
Be my nymph, bab y and let's go frolic
Honey, you know you grab me right by my Pollocks

You're an Art Bomb, baby
In broad strokes, no one can be finer
Art Bomb, baby
You make me wanna paint the walls with my primer

Art Bomb, baby
You're sculpted like a beautiful Face
Art Bomb, baby
I hope I get to second base

I just need a solid 83 minutes
to blow this shit off of the ground
then everyone will know me
And everyone will see me
And everyone will give me free drugs

Free drugs

I just need a solid 42 minutes
To chill out and catch my fucking breath
I blew up the art bomb and everyone is dead
I couldn't give a damn if you paid me

Free drugs

I just need a solid 25 minutes
To look back on everything and laugh
it's all a fucking joke, and everything's a waste
But I don't regret a single moment

Of free drugs

The President called all the artists,
Said, "Your nation requires your aid;
Our people see carnage that we have inflicted.
It fills them with fear, and with rage.
I know there's no beauty in killing,
But there could be, if you all were willing."

Now the missiles sing heavenly choruses
As they fly towards targets unknown.
The machine guns all recite perfect pentameter
As they mow down our foes.
The explosions bloom just like flowers
And they glow with such colors divine.
You could watch the fires dancing for hours
And the nerve gas smells sweeter than wine.

As artists, we strive towards beauty.
It's our military duty.

Balance Lost

Had some ideas, you found a wall
Then they made art against the law
The city street's a gallery
We're never paid a salary

Direct action, take what you want cos no-one's gonna give it to you
When you wake up you ain't gonna see the place the you fell asleep to

The world is a canvas, the canvas is a window
The window is a message and everyone's invited
To contribute, you don't need to vote
You just need to do to make it your own

Direct action, take what you want cos no-one's gonna give it to you
When you wake up you ain't gonna see the place the you fell asleep to

What's up buttercup, pick your fucking rubbish up
This town don't have an etch-a-sketch to clean up all the mess
You create, in a state, recycle, rejuvenate
Do what you want cos haters gonna hate
An awful lot of peeps want a piece of a small pie
I'm gonna get mine, what, you want me to apologise?
Don't believe all the lies, though they taste better than truth
Gonna raise the roof, better get used to
Direct action, take what you want cos no-one's gonna give it to you
When you wake up you ain't gonna see the place the you fell asleep to
Direct action, take what you want cos no-one's gonna give it to you
Direct action, take what you want cos no-one's gonna give it to you

Someone lights a fire
It lights across the sky
A day's reprise
It came down through the wire
the message was so old
the sender died

I think it was for you
the colors seemed to match
all black and blue
A bloody little tune
It hummed all by itself
and stopped too soon

My head fills up with your song
Your art blows up like a bomb
So many ways I know
That I'll never let you go
I never meant to go

The ghost comes back again
A glimmer like a friend
against the wall
As if I could pretend
I don't see your color
here at all

My head fills up with your song
Your heart blows up like a bomb
So many ways I know
that I'll never let you go

My head fills up with your song
Your head blows up like a bomb
I'm catching on
A million days too soon
I can't stand that it's true
So Many ways I know
that I'll never let you go
I'll never let you go

We were young, we were wild, we were beautiful
With art bombs in our hearts
Love was the light we were reaching for
To burn us up
And blow us apart
Younger and wilder, more beautiful
With art bombs in our hearts
Out of the light we were reaching for
We were born to run
And never get far

You left your life's blood on the stage
I was out of my seat
The bigger the lie, the better the song
So dig your graves deep

Suffered the cruelty of innocents
With ice cubes on our tongues
War heroes, ragged and beautiful,
Sleeved in misery
To keep us young

Art bombs burst in our chests
The heart bomb burst in your chest

You left your life's blood on the stage
I was out of my seat
The bigger the lie, the better the song
So dig your graves deep

Art bombs burst in our chests
The heart bomb burst in your chest
Sing me down to my rest
Art bombs burst in our chests

I still see you
------------
A few people have told me that they don't understand my lyrics, so I thought I'd explain this song. If this isn't the place for that, then I apologize!

This song is about a musician who is looking back on a recklessly creative period of his youth, which he shared with a woman whom he considered to be his muse. In the first verse, he describes their obsession with love as self-destruction ("Love was the light we were reaching for to burn us up and blow us apart") and their doomed relationship ("We were born to run and never get far"). He mentions seeing her perform for the first time and being immediately smitten by her energy and her artistic philosophy of dishonesty and pretension. In the second verse, he goes on to talk about their life together on the popular scene, making a sport out of putting hipster kids to shame. "The cruelty of innocents" refers to the baseless scorn of people who haven't been around long enough to know what they're talking about, and the "ice cubes on our tongues" is the cold way in which the narrator and his lover dismissed such people. He wore his misery on his sleeve, convinced that it would keep his viewpoint fresh and realistic. The art bomb is the danger he believed he was courting with his art at this point in his life, and the heart bomb is a reference to what happened to the girl. His reckless youth ended when she died of a heart attack. Now she's frozen forever at that point in his life - a legend he still tries to honor with his work ("I still see you").

Art Bomb

Am-F-G-Am
Am-F-G-Em7 (E7)

“Tick, tock
“I didn’t mean to explode
“An art bomb underneath
“Your fragile abode,”
She said,
“Stop pouting you will be just fine
“Not every distance can be shortened
“By two lines”

And she said, “Na na na na na na na”
She said, “Na na na na na na”
And she said, “Na na na na na na na”
She said
She said

Lit Crit
Dressed all in black
She said, “Behold how a spiraling path
“Looping and turning in every which way
“Can take you much faster from
“Points B to A”

And she said, “Na na na na na na na”
She said, “Na na na na na na na”
And she said, “Na na na na na na na”
She said
She said
She said

Am-F-D-D
Am-F-D-E7

XO
And a bottle of wine
She said, “Follow me and you will feel divine”
And she knew even then
Although she didn’t let on
That soon all my lines
Would have to be redrawn

And she said…

Tick, tock
Take a glance behind
Another year seems to have
Slipped your mind
“A body at rest tends to stay boring,”
She said, “so let’s stay in motion,
“Let’s stay in motion”

And she said…
And we said…

Never before have we been able to transcribe Big Matt's lyrics, but thanks to the modern age we live in, in which Google Voice can perfectly text out any voice file, we now, for the first ever, are able to present the Brilliance of Big Matt Hyatt in the form of the written word. Behold:

Hello I'm rusty cash D D D, 18 D D E T he plus plus plus. Hey, I remember me from some of my old classics such as. Hello Joe, revenge a little drew in Memphis. All my family is at the table,
For a holiday feast.
In the middle is a honey glazed ham,
And she's staring at me.
I lick my lips as they saw the flesh,
Peel back a slice.
I jump on the table and I fuck that ham,
And everybody smiles.
I see Grandpa is clapping his hands,
He knows he's next.
Cause he stabbed my Daddy in the neck with his fork,
To establish his dominance.

And I'm staring at the people who are staring at me,
I'm naked and I'm covered in blood.
None of this is actually happening,
The history of humankind.

Now we're gathered at the Colosseum,
Libations garnish our clothes.
They're tying babies to puppy dogs,
And feeding them to whales.
We dressed them in ribbons and made them sexy,
Candy, Soda Pop
We dance to the rhythm of the flashing lights,
And scream when they say so.
Put all of our money in the shiny box,
All our names in a hat.
Someday they gonna call my number,
And I'm looking forward to that.

We're all staring at people who are staring at us,
We're all naked and we're covered in blood.
None of this is actually happening,
It's an Art Bomb.
It's an Art Bomb.
It's an Art Bomb.
It's an Art Bomb.
It's an Art Bomb.

Art Bomb (Phil)

VERSE 1 (D-E-A)
it was a goodbye to a bad buy
as it flew by and bye
they assure you that they insure you
but you ensure that it's seen through

to cite someone is a sight to some
that's why a site is good for them
their worry caused a scurry
cause they're happy right there

CHORUS (E-G-D)
set an art bomb, art bomb!
but don't blow it
it can't be all wrong, all wrong
unless you mis-speak it

VERSE 2
a decent one from a dissent home
can be of any descent
but through the years they threw their fears
just as thorough as these things go

the two of them got too far in
and it brought them to a promised end
on that mountain peak, they took a peek
and it piqued up their interest

CHORUS (E-G-D)

BRIDGE (Bm-D-E)

no you can't sell 'em on any sale as you sail away
you can't right a rite and you shouldn't write it down today
it's imminent what is immanent in their eminent way
Bm D
show their mettle here with their metal gear
E
receive their medal while they meddle
G
in the middle of the temple
A Bm
and temper what they're tempted to say

Elaine and I (Chiron Return) wrote this (her words here) for every artist (or, everyone) who’s run away from their parents; and also for the parents, who may have realized what they love and be wishing them well too late.

Please enjoy, and hug your kids (or the artist closest to you) extra hard tonight.

ART BOMB

Running for the bus, her crayons underfoot like a landslide
colored chalk lines twining from the driveway to the door
now a blur of yellow as the driver slowly passes
doesn't stop here any more

temperas flying in her face like a father
attitudes and lectures, how he wants the best for her
she was a blur of blackness then and one day all those reasons
didn't stop her — didn't stop her any more

blown up large upon the canvas
pinned up small upon the fridge
to her it didn't matter which
all gone

crayons turned to carving tools, always tried new media
her fancy avocation left her ill-equipped for life
but I guess she never listened then and now she doesn't have to
I can't stop her — can't stop her any more

blown up large upon the canvas
pinned up small upon the fridge
to us it didn't matter which
all gone — gone — gone

my limbs are torn away from me — the arms that used to hold her
the legs that used to walk beside exploring every sight
my mind's been ripped away from me, the absence where she used to be
the dark imagined scenery to which she brought her light
my heart's been blown away from me, the barren walls now colorless
the riot of her essence gone dark where once it shone so very bright

we tried another medium, we tried another tack
looking back — look at ink blots — look inside
how do the pictures fit together — help us make some sense
we never see her — never see her any more

blown up large upon the canvas
pinned up small upon the fridge
to her it didn't matter which
all gone
blown up large upon the canvas
pinned up small upon the fridge
to us it didn't matter which
all gone — gone — gone

my limbs are torn away from me — the arms that used to hold her
the legs that used to walk beside exploring every sight
my mind's been ripped away from me, the absence where she used to be
the dark imagined scenery to which she brought her light
my heart's been blown away from me, our walls now bare and cold
the explosion of her essence gone dark where once it shone so very bright

shine forever, wherever you have gone
shine forever, so that everyone can see
shine forever, in all your brilliant colors
shine forever

a couple of you said you wanted them so here you go.
I called the song dead and gone...

Don’t let it worry on your mind
It will come to show in time
I got a show an empty room
You know my work follows my mood

Spent a life making his work
Perfect the lines do not disturb
Work alone need privacy
Lonely man hell never see

Wont you come to see
Maybe when Im dead and gone
Never amount to much of anything
Can you find my faults
Youll be here when im dead and gone
See my name hung up on the wall

Paint your world by design
Silhouette don’t look behind
A critics words do not compel
Cant make a thing; you go to hell

They wont come to see
Maybe when im dead and gone
Everything that ive come to be
Work ive come to show
Maybe when im dead and gone
Come to read my name off a stone

Will you come to see
Youll be here when im dead and gone
You can learn the books that I read
Work ive come to show
Maybe when im dead and gone
Come to read my name off a stone

Paco Del Stinko - "Art Bomb" (adding lyrics for the cover I'm working on.)

I used to go to art school
until I went and threw it all away

I was an art bomb
and now I'm all gone
I sing a sad song
because I did wrong

oooh oooh oooh oooh
oooh oooh oooh oooh
ahhhh

I used to think I was cool
doing bong hits every single day

I was an art bomb
and now I'm all gone
I sing a sad song
because I did wrong

oooh oooh oooh oooh
oooh oooh oooh oooh
ahhhh

I'd like to blame it all on you, not me
but I just can't get off scott free
maybe I still have skills inside
but it's been so long I'm sure that they've died
like me

I now know I was a fool
the past is gone and you can't replay

I was an art bomb
and now I'm all gone
I sing a sad song
because I did wrong

oooh oooh oooh oooh
oooh oooh oooh oooh
ahhhh

I was an art bomb
