Favorite resources for improving vocals?

After a year of plugging away on Song FIght, I'm happy that more and more of the review comments are about my crappy-sounding vocals, and not other musical or mixing problems that used to plague my early entries. So that's been a very satisfying accomplishment for 2013.

For 2014, I'd like to see if I can improve my vocal sound and actually create some tracks that sound like complete songs. Can anyone suggest resources, links, videos, anything really that you've found helpful for improving your vocal sound? I'm interested in vocal technique just as much as vocal recording/mixing, since I think a lot of my problems are in the performance itself.

Thanks in advance, and happy 2014!

Fellow SongFighter jast has talked about this from time to time.

If you search this forum for "breathing technique" or other keys, you should get a few other useful threads.

I took voice lessons for a couple years. It wasn't cheap, but it sure helped a lot. I really suggest trying to find someone in your area who is experienced in teaching people to sing better.

I'm kidding. Ken has the voice of an angel. When he sings Ave Maria, grown men weep.
