Ok, first review thread ever (after taking out the "too spammy" BBC the review link puts in automatically). I love you all.
Berkeley Social Scene
Great sound and instrumentation. It's gotten stuck in my head as I've been listening to the jukebox in my car.
big whatever
Man, I like your flow. And you made me laugh a few times. Is it a sin to say not my type of thing? Enjoyed it either way
Cookie Blue
I'm not even joking in saying that when I began this song, I thought to myself "This sounds like a song that would have flutes," and then you made my dreams come true. Love the drunk delay at the end.
Drum Season
Awesome jam session. 2 drumsets? dangerous and also one of my favorite things you can do!
glennny
I wan't sure where I was at the start, but man do you hit an awesome groove at the chorus and do do do's. I really, really dug this one as it went on. And the range of instruments is awesome.
Here, Atticus
Bro do you even lift?
Jeebas Jones
So much fun! Love the fa-la-la-etc... tie in.
Ken & Chips
Easily my favorite submission. "we can do no wrong" sits so well. Maybe a little much on the delay on the vocals? They sound a bit muddy when I listen in my car, but I really like this.
Klownhole
Cool song. I think you would be well served to maybe do 2 guitar tracks, even if they are the same part, panned left and right. It will really help fill out the sound and give the song more impact.
Los Bumps
Another fun one. I want to be around a campfire playing and singing this with my friends. Just really gets me in the mood to drink (in a good way).
Lou P
Beautiful. Sorrowful. Fantastic. Love the voice, the piano tone... just the general feel of the whole song. I'm kinda blown away.
Nobody and the No Shows
I laughed. It's so whimsical! The guitar playing is tight and the feel is right, baby.
Odilon Green
The title demanded a genre piece like this, I thought. I'm laughing more than I thought I'd be with these tracks, and it's not even a bad thing. The instrumentation is wonderful here.
Paco del Stinko
It's like the Arctic Monkeys got Mike Patton to sing. I'm really, really diggin this. Such an awesome riff and groove. This is my other favorite this week, for sure. Awesome mix, as well! (edit: I keep coming back to this one in particular. I really, really like this song.)
Ross Durand
Of all the submissions, this one feels the best for the title. It's perfect. This is the song that Drunk Season was meant to be. The performance is fantastic and the song is stuck in my head for the rest of the reviews.
ShotPounder
ENERGY. I was hit by the Drunk Season truck. Awesome fire on the vocals. Maybe bring the guitars out a little and give the bass a little more definition? Something about the mix doesn't convey the power the song has.
Slickitude
Hooked by the intro bars, really cool. Love the vocal style with the type of music, I think it works really well. The drums, I think, are too loud in the mix. Or the guitars aren't loud enough. I'm not sure. Either way, though, I enjoy the song.
toby roktot
We finally calm back down. Really nice feel. I'd want this playing on the radio as I'm getting drunk on my porch somewhere warm.
Tuners Union
I can't keep using the word "favorite." That all said, another favorite. Love your voice. Love the vocal harmonies. Really, everything I tend to love about songs is here. Soulful organ. Groove. Acoustic licks. Mmmmm.
WreckdoM
I woke up in a field 4 miles away and 3 days had passed. I don't think I can wrap my head around this one. I can very assuredly say I feel drunk listening to it.
YouPeoples
I like your lyrics and style, man. Good, chill beat that keeps going on. I like how the end of every verse always comes back to drunk season.
Zack Facco
The chorus is not what I was expecting, but I was ok when it got here. After hearing the whole song, I have to say I really like the contrast. And the transition back to minor at the end of each chorus is just so perfect. I smile every time you fall back into the verse. Very nicely written.
Zinkline
Weird to say, but I really like the guitar tones at work here. The guitar parts work together really well. Really cool track. I'm hearing the same lyrics as glenny? Yes, definitely the same. I'm probably missing something here haha.
