What a great find! Thanks. Now I know I've been setting up my mic boom totally wrong.
I wish their announcer didn't seem quite so much like a Billy Mays type though.
Also I could really use a tutorial on micing cellos and violins. I just kind of limp along with textual descriptions I've found on the Internet but I suspect I could get much better quality.

You want to record cello/violin with as many mics as possible. The timbre harmonics for these instruments is super phat on like every interval so getting it from multiple angles creates a rich sound.
After that the placement is all about what type of attack you want. Aiming for below the f hole under the bridge is great but if the players bow work is shite all you'll pick up is squeaky nonsense.
And for mics - dual pan phased ribbons (gold ribbon preferred, for warmth)

I don't know what fluf's answer will be, but I'm picturing him straddling it like a witch on a broom.

I had it angled downward instead of rising up. I don't think that actually makes any difference or anything, it's just the way that I liked having it to fit the space better (even after the reorganization my recording space is kind of tight), but it did make things a bit less stable than they should be and also the pop filter never wanted to stay in place.
